History: Jade was born in a small pride. The king and queen at the time were Mheetu and Kala who, just a bit before Jade was born, had their own son. Jade was the middle child of her family, with two older brothers and soon a younger sister. For some reason, Jade was not the favorite in the family. Jade’s father seemed to spend more time with his sons and her mother was too busy to spend time with any of her own cubs. Jade was often alone and tried to catch up with her older brothers but seemed to get in the way and cause trouble. This upset her father and he just never really seemed to like Jade. She seemed to bother him too much and did not live up to his expectations.
As a cub, Jade was very playful but she didn’t like not being the one in charge. The others cubs were afraid of her because of her short temper and impatience but Jade never really cared what they thought. She did her own thing and loved it. Jade was off on her own when Tai, the prince that was only a few months older than her, found her. For some reason, Jade took a liking to the prince right away. They went off on their own, passing the border of their kingdom. It was clear to Jade that Tai was only trying to act brave and tough around her, but she didn’t mind it. The two got into an argument and Jade tackled Tai. The cubs played until there was a strange noise. They knew they were way further out than they were ever supposed to be. Tai tried to get Jade to turn back but Jade wanted to seem braver than the prince so she stayed put. Suddenly, a large deformed shadow can into their sight and a deep growl thundered through the land. The two cubs were too scared to say anything, and they ran back to their kingdom as fast as they could. Little did they know, that it was only Mheetu who decided to teach his son a lesson about going out too far. After that day, Tai and Jade became best friends. Jade seemed a lot less destructive and scary around Tai. She let her walls down and just enjoyed his company.
As time went on, Jade grew into a young, beautiful teenager. It was obvious now that Tai had developed a crush on her, but Jade hid her feelings towards him very well. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to fall in love with her best friend and risk complicating things. Still, the two grew up together and were always very close. Then, tragedy struck. A gang of lioness began to torment Jade’s family when they were alone. Jade’s father was very mad and confronted them. They ended up settling on a deal. Jade’s family was planning to go off and leave the pride, and the only one against it was Jade because she did not want to leave Tai, so Jade’s father traded Jade to the gang and then took the rest of his family away. Jade ended up living with violent gang of lions in their small jungle. She wasn’t able to talk to Tai for a very long time. The gang didn’t do anything bad to her. They used her to trick others and forced her to help them steal food from Tai’s pride. She would often try to correct any wrong actions she was forced to participate in by returning stolen food or anything like that.
Jade could not avoid Tai for long, though. She was soon caught and Tai learned that Jade was helping the gang of lions that were causing his kingdom chaos. Tai soon got Jade alone, where he confessed his love to her, and Jade admitted she loved him back but she couldn’t just leave the gang because they would just find her again right away. Jade also had learned that Tai’s parents set up an arranged marriage for him so it is not like they could just run off together and everything go back to normal. Jade knew Tai wouldn’t give up and they faced each other again but when Zuberi, the leader of the gang, hit Jade, Tai snapped. He challenged Zuberi to fight him, and Jade was not surprised. Zuberi accepted and the fight between the two groups began. It was long and tiring. Jade missed Tai more than ever when she would pass by him, but then always have to return to the gang. Zuberi decided to make the fight more interesting, and he challenged Tai to fight one-on-one. Tai accepted, not knowing Zuberi was talking about Jade. Jade and tai faced each other, and were supposed to fight. The others in Tai’s pride cheered him on but Tai refused to harm Jade. He claimed if Zuberi was brave enough, he’d fight him. This angered Zuberi and the two fought to the end. With the death of Zuberi, Tai believed Jade was free. The gang left, empty handed. Jade and Tai finally felt together but Jade knew that it was still her job to stay with the gang because of the deal made by her father. They technically owned her and paid for her. The gang came back for Jade but Tai refused to give her away. He made a new deal and it cost his pride a lot of food, and Tai had to help find the gang a new place to live, but Jade was allowed to stay back in her home pride, Tai and Lana, the lioness he was supposed to marry, called off the wedding and Tai was allowed to marry Jade instead.
Lana found herself a new love, and Tai could move on guilt free. Tai and Jade were married and she became the new queen. Their kingdom was more peaceful with the removal of the gang. Tai and Jade ended up having and raising triplets, Paka, Kimba, and Sanura.
