History: Dawn was born in a large pride. Dawn was lucky and born to very loving parents. She always liked by everyone from the very start. As a young cub, Dawn was always very friendly but she also listened to parents. Dawn never disobeyed them, and loved staying by her mother’s side. Ever since she was little, Dawn was very polite and kind to everyone. She had many friends, and she seemed to travel in her large groups of other cubs. Just like many other cubs, Dawn was always looking for a good time. She believed in everything, and everyone believed in her. Her parents were getting constant complements about how well behaved Dawn was. She was never mean to anyone, even when they were mean to her. Her life was going great and her opinion perfect. Or it seemed that way.
As time went on, Dawn grew older and she quickly learned the unbelievable stories she was told as a cub were just too unbelievable. Dawn was still just a cub when her parents delivered the message of someone new joining their family. Dawn was going to have a little sibling. She was very excited. Dawn didn’t leave her mother’s side and constantly asked when her new sibling would arrive. Her mother predicted it to be another girl, which only made Dawn even happier. Then, tragedy struck and Dawn’s parents explained there would be no little sister. Dawn’s mother did not have another baby and it hurt Dawn just as hard, if not more, as her parents. Dawn wanted to be an older sister, and finally be in charge. She would teach her little sister everything. Her parents had explained to her having a sister meant there was going to be conflict between the two but Dawn didn’t think so. She had promised her mother she would never fight with her sister, and tell her every day that she was loved. Dawn’s fantasy was torn to shreds as she realized not everything works out perfectly.
The sad event did not stop Dawn, however. Dawn grew into a beautiful and beloved teenager. She went on her first hunt, but was only disappointed. Dawn knew she wasn’t much of a huntress, but most of her friends went on to become strong lionesses that fought and provided their pride with food. Dawn did realize she had a love and a talent for taking care of cubs. She enjoyed playing with cubs that looked at the world with innocence. Dawn loved to watch and care for the cubs when their parents were busy with hunting or anything else. Dawn was enjoying life just the way it was.
Dawn soon met a lion named Kanu, the only other male in the pride besides the king. Dawn’s father was a part of a neighboring pride, and often back and forth. Kanu was very charming at first. He always brought her gifts and told her how amazing she was. The smallest romantic gestures did the most. Dawn found herself falling for Kanu. Dawn and Kanu never left each other’s side after that. Dawn was convinced that while Kanu was shy and distant with others, his true self came out around her. She was positive they were in love. Others around her were not so sure. They warned Dawn about Kanu, but she believed this was her fairy tale. Kanu was her prince to take her away and make her happy. Everyone else was right, though. Kanu was a liar.
Kanu had tricked Dawn into falling in love for him. When they became young adults, his true intentions came out. Dawn’s mother was cousins, and best friends, with the queen. Kanu used Dawn to get close to the royal family. He tried to take the throne but his actions were put to a stop, since everyone was expecting something to go wrong. Kanu was stopped, and banished from the kingdom. No one blamed Dawn, but she blamed herself. With guilt flooding her thoughts, Dawn followed Kanu but that’s not the only reason. The most important reason was because she was carrying his son. Dawn believed she should follow Kanu to understand what to do with their son, and because she was afraid to show her face in her pride again. The two wandered around for the longest time, and Kanu acted like his real self again around Dawn. Dawn knew he was no good for her, and she tried to leave but Kanu wouldn’t allow that. He forced her to follow him and take apart in their next plan. Dawn gave birth to a healthy baby boy, who she named Asante because it meant thank you. Dawn loved her son very much and, luckily, Kanu did not pay much attention to his son. Dawn took great care of Asante and enjoyed watching him grow each day. Asante made Dawn’s life better. Kanu found the Pride Lands and the small family went up to explore. The king, Kovu, and queen, Kiara, felt bad for the family, mostly because Kanu made up a very tragedy lie, and let them live in the Pride Lands. Dawn finally had an escape. She loved watching her son play with the other cubs, and often spent time with Kiara. Kanu paid no attention to them. He would remind Asante and Dawn that he was in charge and that they shouldn’t tell anyone at night but, in the day time, he kept away from everyone so he could plot. Dawn was once again happy but she feared Kanu might hurt Asante so she kept quiet about their real lives.
Asante grew into a young teen and Dawn could not be more proud. Her son even found himself in love with Kiara and kovu’s daughter, Shani. Kanu finally had a plan and shared it with her. He was going to kill Kovu, and the rest of his family. Dawn told Asante that he had to tell someone soon, because she could not since Kanu was keeping an extra careful eye on her. Although Asante was afraid, he told Shani about his father. Surprisingly, Shani took it well but ran to tell her father. Kanu overheard the two teenagers and knew he had to act now. Kanu kidnapped Shani, and planned on using her as bait. When her father, Kovu, came, Kanu would kill him. Asante knew Shani was taken by his father, so he ran to find Kipawa, kovu’s son and Shani’s older brother. Dawn went to find Kiara, but was not successful because Kiara was out hunting. Kipawa and Asante ran to save Shani. Kipawa attacked Kanu as soon as he saw him. Asante ran to find Shani, and make sure she was okay, before helping Kipawa. Together, the two boys defeated Kanu. All the weight was lifted off Dawn’s shoulders. Her son had saved them both. Asante and Dawn were allowed to stay in the Pride Lands, and were not blamed for anything. Dawn could finally truly smile.
Dawn was able to watch her son become an adult, and even marry Shani. Dawn had fallen in love with lies, and ran away with them, but the worst was over and Dawn was able to live her life happily.
