History: Drake, once born in a different pride, was the only one who survived in his litter. One of his sisters and one of his brothers had been stolen by hyenas, and the rest didn't make it. Because of this, his parents were very over-protective ofhim, and Drake soon got bored of it all. So he slipped out when his parents weren't watching and went to play with his girls. He knew they all loved him and he played the part but he never really liked them back. But Drake kept quiet about this fact, and so his life was peaceful. Until the day came.
Drake had just turned into a teenager, and his parents were arguing. For a second, Drake thought that his father was telling his mother that it was time Drake got a mate, and his mother was against it. Drake backed away, refusing to hear the rest of the conversation, as he hated hearing his parents argue, but also because he remembered spending time with his father as a cub and now he wanted to force Drake into geting a mate? But then his mother came to him. "Drake, your father and I got into a little argument, but in the end it was decided." She began. Drake breathed in a sigh of relief. "You will get a mate now." His mother finished. Drake swapped his sigh of relief for a quiet sigh of despair. "But, I don't want a mate yet. I'm not ready for one." Drake mumbled. "Nonsense!" His mother snapped. "Your father became captain of the guards at your age, and I as his second-in-command. It's traddition in our pride the captain of the guards are males and their second-in-command their mates. When their mates are pregnant her best friend will take over. After the cubs are born the mate goes back to her duties and the mate trains the eldest cub. Besides, you need to look for one since your father can't do his duty now." The last part scared Drake as he ran back to his friends. He asked everyone about what his mother meant, until his best friend told him the truth and showed him the proof. The argument had turned into a fight and him mother had won. It was decided because after the fight his father couldn't even speak. He couldn't hear, move or even breath either. He was dead. His mother had killed his father. Heart-broken, Drake ran away from the pride in search of another. All he could do was pray to the great kings of the past to protect him.
As time stretched on, Drake turned into an adult. He was hunting for some prey when he heard cubs laughing. He forgot his hunger and went to see what was happening. A golden cub with a hair tuff was playing with another golden cub, this time a female who had ear rims. Drake smiled at the sight of it, but he stepped on a leaf by accident, and he brushed against the grass too loudly. One of the lionesses bounded over to him, snarling. She had orange-looking fur, a black tail and green eyes. For a second, he was lost in her eyes, they were so pretty, but then her sharp voice broke through his thoughts. "What are you doing here, rouge?" She growled. "You are scaring the prey and are a threat to the cubs. Leave, now, before I have to make you, and then you'll be sorry." Drake looked at her, unafraid. "Calm down, I am no threat. And neither are you, your a girl." He replied smoothly. A gasp came from another lioness who was still lying on the rock, while the one in his face chuckled. "Looks like you have a lesson to learn, never judge the strength of a lioness by her looks." She laughed then pounced on him. Drake was overwhelmed with her power and sudden attack. He preffered battles with words. Drtake had to try to get out of using his claws. "Aw, the lioness wants to get all hot and sweaty fighting a lion, big brave girl." He smiled. The lioness dug her claws in further. "And the lion wants to have a battle of words like the coward he is." She sneered. "What a baby! You coward." Drake saw he had no choice. He swiped his paw at her, his claws extended, but she didn't even flinch. Her paw caught his, and pinned it to the ground. Drake tristed around and bit her leg. The lioness roared with pain but didn't losen her grip. Drake lifted his feet onto her chest and flicked her off of him. The lioness landed on all fours, not even wobbling. Drake couldn't help think that the girl was tough, but that one thought gave the lioness a chance to attack. She swiped at his side, and when Drake looked he could see it was bleeding. Drake pushed her away and began to run. He didn't want serious injurys. But the lioness put her paw on his tail firmly, making him look at her. "Never return." She growled then let him go. Drake scrambled away and couldn't believe his luck. The last hing he heard was "Great job protecting the cubs, Adia." So, her name is Adia? He thought to hmself. Drake found a place to stay, it had no prey but was near enough the lush lands where prey were and was empty. Just the thing for him. That night he looked at the stars. I will find you again, Adia. He thought to himself. I know we will see each other again one day.
Many months later, Drake had forgotten all about Adia, and had returned from hunting when he heard sobbing. He looked for the lion when he saw a pretty lioness with an orange looking pelt and a black tail. He didn't know what her eye colour was because her head was on the rock, but she was still really beautiful. Drake walked up to her. "Now, what could cause such a pretty lioness to cry like this?" He asked gently. The lioness snapped her head up and glared at him. "You." She hissed. Looking at her eyes, Drake recognised her. The green eyes were unmistakable. It was Adia. "I gave you that scar so you wouldn't dare show your face again." She snarled. The only one that had not healed and had scarred was when Adia slashed at his side. "And did it work?" He replied. "Watch your tounge, buddy, I can give you another one if you like." She snapped. After a few more words, just as Drake was beginning to hope it would be a battle of words, Adia leapt on him. At once Drake stuck out his claws to fight, remembering last time. He fought hard but boy did he feel it when her claw sank into his cheek.
After a long, exhausting fight, Drake finally backed away. "I am not on your land and have not touched and of your cubs, you have no reason to fight me, I have been no threat." He told her. "You annoyed me, and that is why we;re fighting." Adia snapped and leapt on him. Drake neatly stepped aside and Adia crashed into the ground. "Do you get that from your father?" He asked teasingly, even though he did not know about her father. Adia got up, her eyes ablaze. "Don't you ever DARE mention my lowly, lying cheater of a father." She snarled and leapt on him again, but missed. She was clearly getting weak, but she was stubborn, and refused to give up. She kept trying to attack him, but Drake refused to fight any more. Finally Adia dashed at Drake, who stepped back, letting Adia pass him, then put his paw on her tail. Adia fell, and glared at him. "Fight me, you coward!" She roared. "No, you are growing weak, and if I fight you will die for sure." Drake replied firmly. Adia tried to release her tail from his grip then gave up. "If I would die from the fight then so be it." She growled. "Kill me. Put me out of my misery. You might as well do it now." But Drake could not bring himself to even put his claws into her tail, let alone kill her. "What are you waiting for?" She snapped. "I will not kill you." Drake told her. "Just kill me already!" She snarled. "First I want to know why." He demanded. Adia sighed, and looked at him. "Because my father is Scar, and he killed Luke, who I had a crush on as a cub, he killed my mother when I was a cub, then his hyenas murdered him, which I did not care about, and now my younger twin brother has a mate of his own. It all tortures me! The stress is piling up!" Adia roared, tears in her eyes. Drake, shocked, let go of her tail. He had never realised what a dark past she could have had. "I'm sorry." He muttered. Adia began to walk off, then collapsed. At once Drake was by her side. He picked her up and carried her back to the lands she came from, where he had first met her. The pridelands.
As Adia recovered, Drake knew that the scratch on his cheek would scar, and he didn't really care that much. he was concerned for Adia. She never got a scar on her. But then, when Drake was accepted into the pride for saving Adia, he became best friends with her. But then Drake began to feel something. He didn't know what it was, but when he did Drake refused to admit it, plus he knew that Adia would never like him and didn't want anyone to replace Luke. But he couldn't run from it forever. Drake was falling in love with Adia.
One night, when Drake was watching the stars, Adia came out to him and sat next to him. Drake looked at her gorgeous green eyes sparkling in the moonlight, and suddenly Drake couldn't take it. He faced Adia. "Adia, there's a secret I've been hid ing from you, I love you!" He blurted out. Adia sat, looking shocked. There was a sudden silence in the air. Drake was sure that Adia would claw him so hard that he would be thrown right off of pride rock. But a much gentler answer came from Adia's mouth. "I love you, too, Drake." She addmitted. Drake nuzzled her. He had found a mate.
A month later, Adia bounded up to him, excitement lighting up her eyes. "Drake, I have something to tell you." She exclaimed. "I'm pregnant!" Drake stood, shocked, then hugged her. "That's wonderful, Adia!" He exclaimed. Adia nuzzled him "I'm glad you think so." She purred.
When Adia's cubs arrived. Drake stood pacing outside the cave, dreading things, like what if his cubs never made it? Or worse, Adia never made it? But then Nala came out of the den. "Adia is ready to see you." She purred. Drake was by Adia's side like a bullet. He looked over her shoulder. There were five cubs. "They are beautiful, Adia." He purred. Adia purred, too. "What shall we name them?" Adia asked. "Hm, Rosie for that girl there." He decided, nudging the eldest one. "Josh for that one." He nudged the eldest son. "Jade for her." He nudged the second girl."Ellie for that beautiful girl there." He nudged the third girl. "And have no idea about the last one." Drake nudged the youngest one. Adia frowned while she thought then smiled. "We'll call him Luke." She decided. "Perfect." Drake purred.
A few generations later, Adia and Drake were still alive, and they were not weak either. But one of their cubs, Ellie, had been stolen by hyenas, which broke Drake's heart. One day, the king assembled the lionesses for a fight. Adia and Drake prepared to fight. They saw that they were fighting against the hyenas, one of Drake's brothers, his daughter Ellie and a few other rouge lions. The battle began. Drake fought strongly but he had three or four lions on him. Then he looked at Adia. Four lions were fighting her along with two hyenas Drake began to run to help but he was forced to battle with lionesses who stood in his way. There came a sudden cry, and one of the lionesses started whispering. "She is dead. That lioness actually killed Adia." Drake rushed over to his loyal mate while the war raged on. Every lion or hyena Adia came up against in the war Adia had killed, but she had become weak. Although a lioness killed Adia, one look assured Drake that Adia had still managed to kill the lioness before she died. Not another lion or hyena had jumped on her after she killed her killed. Sudden;y A lionand hyena took Adia away. drake chased them to the river that had flooded, and watched in terror as they through her into it. Drake dived in after her. His final thoughts were, I will soon be with you, my love.
