History: Granite was born in the pride lands to Sarabi and a vicious rogue that was just too insistent for Mufasa to fight off in time. He was born and Sarabi and the other lionesses did not treat him the same way they treated the others. He know it. Granite also knew Scar was trying to cinvince Mufasa to kill him. He one day met a sweet lioness cub name Slate - he had not gotten a name yet and remarked how odd her name was, being a rock. She simply laughed, the most sweet and kind hearted laugh he had ever heard, and asked him his name. Reluctantly, Granite told her he had none. She was surprised and said, "well, how about Granite? Just as weird as mine, and you'll fit in when you meet my filter." she smiled. It surprised him.
he liked it though. When he returned to his pride, feeling extremely important for the diesel time, announced his name. A lioness asked him why he chose tjat name, and he explained Slate.
The lionesses tensed. One murmured something about old legends and fairy tails, then the matter was dropped. As he grew, Granite was given little guidence and basically taught himself. He fought nearly consantly with the other Cuba, and was forced to teach himself to hunt. He never fully figured it out. He constantly met with Slate, who told him her stories and legends of the Others, never telling him she was an Other, and Granite was fascinated. Eventually, Scar convinced Mufasa that Granite was dangerous. Sarabi, frantic, told Granite he couldn't stay and the lion became suspicious at her sudden caring. She flooded him with information on Scar and Mufasa'splan, and Granite ran off to meet Slate, desperately telling her his issue. She sai, "it's time to meey pride. You always loved the stories of the Othwrs, and it's time you became apart of it." te two had no time to waste and ran to the caves, terrified at tue aspect of being followed. Even in the tunnels, Slate moved swiftly and Granite was mistified by her navigation skills. When they came to the greatCavern, granite was welcomed. He grew his mane there, soon learning he belonged there.
Eventually he married Slate and had twins: Shale Nd Breccia, male and female, respectively, and found they tended to have pridelandish traits. He looked past it fora long time . He was kind to them and loved them.
eventually, he met Zeru. At first he was extremely incline to keep him away, but Slate compelled him not to. This young cub wasn't like the others; he was just like Granite. It only made the choice harder when the lionesses started asking to go Above to hunt. It felt like too much to contend with, but Shale suggested he let them, and Granite felt that the young Pridelander, Zeru, had turned his own son against him. He felt trapped and had to escape it. He decided one day to leave for at least awhile. He went back above ground, nearly blinded by the light. He shook hisane though, closed his eyes and thought. He walked blindly, meeting no resistance. He didn't know what to do. He felt wrong in his prejudice against  Zeru. He knew the younger ones looked up to him. Granite knew what had to be done. He would have to push aside his thoughts and allow his pride some freedom.
He didn't treat Zeru the same, but he excepted the cub. That name - that name, it was a constant reminder to Granite that Zeru was an outsider.
Still, though, he was a leader. To except what he could not change was his job.
He would do his job to the beat of his ability.
