Personality: Asante is a very kind and loves to help others. He was very playful and adventurous as a cub and gets along great with young cubs as an adult. He is more of a lover than a fighter but is great at keeping things hidden. Asante doesn't like to show a lot of feeling around Shani, trying to make himself seem stronger, but he hates keeping secrets from her. Asante doesn't like to fight and he normally always has a positive attitude but harm anyone he loves and he won't hold back.

History: Asante was born in a small pride. As a cub his life was very normal. His mother, Dawn, was very nice and Asante loved spending time with her. Kanu, his father, was always wanting to spend time with Asante and as a cub Asante did not suspect anything. Asante's father developed a love for power and wanted more than anything to be king of a pride. Asante was apart of his father's plan without even knowing it and his mother did not suspect it either. Asante was often told to do small tasks for his father and he did because they weren't so abnormal.

Then came the day, where Asante's father attacked the king of their pride. Asante didn't like watching his father try and hurt others and his mother kept him away from the violence as much as she could. Asante's father was defeated but only banished, along with his family. Asante and his mother were forced by Kanu to help him take over a different pride. That's when they ran into the Pride Lands.

Asante was out playing when he ran into another cub. The cub was Shani, daughter of Kiara and Kovu. The two played for a bit and Asante mentioned how his family was looking for a place to live. Shani took Asante and his family to her parents. Kiara and Dawn became friends instantly, just like Asante and Shani. Asante's father made sure to not let Kovu think anything was up. The family was welcomed into the Pride Lands and for a while, Kanu did not bother his son with his plans and remained distant. Asante and Shani became best friends and played everyday. They were very close and Asante developed a crush on her but made sure to not let her know.

Asante grew into a young teenager and finally, he needed to tell Shani. Asante was often threatened by his father to not tell anyone but he wasn't afraid anymore. Asante told Shani everything and she, surprisingly, took it well. Shani understood that Asante was forced to do what his father said. Shani ran to go tell Kovu, but was captured by Kanu. Asante soon learned about his father's plan to capture Shani as bait and then kill Kovu and Kipawa, Shani's brother, to then take the throne. Asante ran to Kipawa for help. Everyone was searching for Shani but only Asante knew where she was. Together they ran to save Shani. Kipawa confronted Kanu while Asante made sure Shani was not harmed. Once he knew Shani was alright he ran to help Kipawa. Asante did not want to hurt his father but he could not let him harm the ones he loved. Kanu was killed and Shani returned home.

Asante was allowed to stay in the Pride Lands because of his brave deed to end his father and protect the Pride Landers. Asante's life became normal and his feelings for Shani grew stronger but would have to be put on hold because when Asante was a young adult, the Pride Lands were forced into a war with a neighboring pride. Although, Asante wasn't much of a fighter he did help when Kipawa asked. He was mostly worried about Shani. Shani was the leader of the hunting parties and a great fighter so she played a big part in the war. Asante thought the war was going to last a long time, until Kipawa finally snapped. Kipawa, along with his friend Hasina, went to finally end the war. The ended the old king's time on the throne, restoring peace between the two prides. Asante often helped rebuild the other pride, as the picked a new and better king. Kipawa, now crowned king of the Pride Lands, picked Hasina as his queen and Asante just couldn't wait any longer. He had to tell Shani

With the war over, Shani and Asante spent more time together. They both admitted their feelings and the only problem left was to allow Kovu to let his only daughter marry Asante. After a bit, Shani convinced him and the two became mates. With no more wars, or problems to keep them apart Asante was finally living his normal life with Shani.
