Personality: Upendi is very adventurous and full of energy but she can be shy around new people. Upendi is sweet and caring but has the habit of telling lies. She loves to play with cubs her age and isn't afraid to get down and dirty.

History:

Upendi was born in the middle of nowhere. Her parents didn't get along with others and sadly, Upendi's mother died giving birth to her. Upendi's father wasn't the best father. He always lied to Upendi and was very greedy. Upendi's father didn't give anything to his daughter, and ate most of their food. Upendi didn't really know much else and she didn't dare challenge him.

As Upendi grew up she soon decided it was time to stop listening to her father. This ended badly. Her father became more violent and often left her alone. One night, her father got so mad at her he left and never returned. Upset, Upendi blamed herself. She was sure she was the worst cub ever.

Upendi traveled everywhere. She met many others but never liked to stay in the same place for a long time. One time, Upendi met a boy around her age. They became best friends, but his pride was soon taken over. Upendi went to go find her friend and witnessed his death, due to the new dictator. Upendi was became very depressed for a long time. She blamed herself for everything wrong in the world. Every river she passed, or cliff she was Upendi thought about her own death. Her life seemed pointless but then she found the pride lands. Upendi fell in love with the pride lands, it was the most beautiful place she ever saw. Then, she met a boy cub, who was out playing alone. His name was Michael and he was the friendliest cub Upendi has ever met. Upendi was very shy at first and tried her best not to show any emotion, like always. Michael was so full of energy, Upendi couldn't help it. The two challenged each other to a race and then play wrestled until sunset. Michael asked her name and Upendi hesitated. She told him her name was Nadia. Michael believed her and went home to tell his big sister all about his new friend.

Upendi didn't want to get close to anyone so she stayed away from Michael as much as she could but he soon found her again. Michael asked many questions about Upendi's life and she kept spreading lies, soon Michael caught up. He was very upset that Upendi would lie to him. "What is your name? Your REAL name," He questioned. Upendi sighed and told him it was Malia. She couldn't tell the truth. She was afraid Michael would not like her due to her awful past. He forgave her and they became best friends. Upendi stayed as distant as possible. She didn't meet his family, and Michael's older sister was getting worried.

They grew up together but Michael grew more worried about his new friend. They were young teenagers when Upendi finally saw her father again. He was angry that she left and wanted to fight. Upendi was out with Michael when she saw him. Upendi immediately ran away, but her father followed screaming her name. Michael realized Upendi's real name but he took off after her. Michael caught up to Upendi and scolded her for lying but then offered to help. Upendi looked at him and smiled, "no."

Upendi was able to out run her father for a while, until she was cornered. Upendi turned around and stared at her father. He growled but before he could attack. Michael jumped on his back and bit his neck. Kito, Michael's father, helped fight Upendi's father off. Upendi's father ran off, never to be seen again. Upendi apologized for lying and Michael quickly forgave her. Upendi told Michael and his family everything and they welcomed Upendi into their home.

Michael soon got to know Upendi for who she really was and the two fell in love. Michael and Upendi became mates and are now thinking about having cubs of their own one day.
