Personality: He is incedibly shy and rarely speaks, he communicates mainly through body language and sounds rather then words. he finds that the only animals he cna speak to freely is his sister Nomsa and her best friend Zahir the lioness. He gets scared easily and is afriad of his own red eyes (he once caught sight of them in the waters reflection) he blushes almost instantly and cna clumsily fall over from time to time. despite all this he is an excellent hunter, nimble on his feet and with the ability to remain hidden and silent for hours waiting for his prey

History: He lives with his sister Nomsa who bosses and rules him around just like all hyena females do. She wanders off one day and to Esaacs horror brings back a young lioness with her. Nomsa insists that they all become friends as she is tired of the war between lions and hyeneas. At first Esaac pays little interest in Zahir, only speaking with her when they hunt together. But after finding Zahir crying beside the waterhole one day he confronts her and asks her what is wrong. She confesses that she feels strange and her stomach hurts when she looks at him. This confuses Esaac and he does not relise that she is describing butterflies in her stomach . Zahir runs away from him back to her pride and he does not see her for days.

He visits the caves where they often met and finds her sitting on the edge of the highest rock ready to jump of. He dosent make it in time and she has already leapt of the edge when he gets to the top. He jumps after her and manages to steer them to the next ledge rather then the rocks below. Zahir confesses she was in love with him and didnt want to live with the shame. Esaac admits he is also in love with her but that they should try to keep it a secret as he cannot live without her
