Appearance: Penda has her father's fur color. Her fur is a lighter color on her belly, muzzle, toes, and under her eyes. She has her mother's emerald green eyes and her mother's dusty pink nose color.

Personality: Penda is more like a tomboy. She enjoys playing around and can sometimes be very immature. She is sweet and nice but also likes to bend the rules. Penda is very smart though sometimes she doesn't like using her head to stay out of trouble but Penda is a sweet and caring lioness.

History:

Birth-

Penda is the second cub of Baraka and Kamili and the middle child. She was born after her older sister, Akeelah, and before her younger sister, Sabra.

Childhood-

Penda was more of a tomboy. She would often be found playing with the boys, and often winning against them in a play fight, or going off to explore. Penda was a bit of a trouble maker and her older sister was always there to keep her out of it. Penda often saw this as her sister acting more like a mother. The two often fought and argued. Penda would often tease her sister. Their parents always just let them argue. Kamili, their mother, would always just laugh and tell them, "I hope you girls realize how different you are doesn't matter. You'll find something you have in common one day," Penda just rolled her eyes at her mother's words.

Penda's best friend was named Kanu. He was only a little older than her but they were always the two wrestling and running off somewhere new. while some girls teased Penda about how they would make a good couple Penda ignored it. Kanu wasn't her type anyway.

Penda soon had a younger sister, named Sabra. Sabra was very shy and timid and one of the smallest cubs in the pride. Sabra often did as she was told and spent most of her time with Akeelah but Penda was always there to help sneak her away to go have some fun and break some rules. Penda was convinced Sabra was having more fun with her.

Teenage years-

When Penda was a teenager she was often ignored. Being the middle child was hard. Akeelah was always an overachiever and Penda felt like she was second best. She never liked that feeling so she started acting up more to get attention. Any kind of attention was better than no kind of attention.

One day Penda was going to leave the Pride Lands and go exploring. Akeelah, along with Sabra, saw her and of course Akeelah had to try and stop Penda. Penda was fed up with her big sister and just laughed, "Whatcha gonna do about it Princess?" Akeelah, forgetting her morals, tackled her sisters. The two wrestled for only a few seconds before Penda slipped away running into the unknown. Penda liked the chase she was having fun. Penda was laughing so hard at her sisters' attempt to catch her she tripped and fell. She rolled on the dusty ground, with a grin on her face. Just then Sabra heard a noise. The three listened closely and heard the strange noise again. Frightened, the girls ran as fast as they could. Tired, they hid behind a tree and listened closely but it was silent. Akeelah was the realized where they were, The Out Lands. Penda, being her curious self, went out and looked around and then found a small infant cub, sleeping in a ditch. She screeched at how weak and thin the cub looked. Her sisters rushed over to see the cub. Just then they heard a low growl. They turned around to see a lion, around Penda's age. Penda and her sister jumped at the lion while Sabra stayed by the small infant cub.The lion screamed for them not to hurt his sister. Penda took a few steps away from the lion to hear what he was saying. Akeelah did the same. They looked at each other confused. The lion explained who he was. His name was Lokar and his sister, Shani, was the small cub. Their parents left them after Shani was born but it was hard for Lokar to take care of a cub so young for he was no mother lioness. Penda felt sorry for Lokar and Shani and she couldn't help but notice how handsome he was. Akeelah asked if Lokar knew the way to the pride lands and he was happy to show them the way.

When they returned Akeelah and Sabra rushed back home but Penda went to talk to Lokar. "Lokar, look my pride would be happy to include new members. Shani can be a lot safer there and we have plenty of food and well....I want you to come with me," Penda begged Lokar. Lokar smiled accepted the invitation. He stayed with Penda. There Shani was able to be in a much safer place and Penda went to her uncle Chaka, The lion King, to ask if they could join the pride. She explained every detail to her uncle and he just smiled. Chaka played a big part in his nieces lives and he was happy to let Lokar and Shani stay there. Penda was in charge of watching over them though.

Adulthood-

Penda had easily fallen for Lokar but had no idea if he liked her back. They were out on a walk and Penda kept trying to tell him her feelings. Lokar and Shani were apart of the pride now and they seemed to be one big happy and healthy family. They soon walked a cross a long, a rushing river below them. Penda was nervous. She loved Lokar but had no idea how to say it. Just then she stepped on the log and it cracked. The whole log creeked loudly as it slowly started to slip. There had been so much rain before the river was now so high. The part of the log Penda stood was breaking free and she couldn't free herself. Her paw was stuck in the hole on the log she had fallen into. Lokar rushed into action. He tried his best to keep the log together and help Penda get her paw free at the same time. Penda struggled until her paw slipped free. The two ran to the other side of the river. Lokar was close to the end when the log snapped almost in half. The log had been there for years, it was an old dead tree but no one expected it to break now. Penda had walked on the log many times in her childhood. Lokar was swept away in the water. Penda kept running, trying to catch him in time. Lokar was pushed farther from Penda by the water. Penda grabbed a long branch that had fallen from a tree. Lokar grabbed it in time. Penda pulled Lokar closer to land and finally Lokar could reach land. He pulled himself up to safety and as the two watched the rest of the old dead log rush down the river, Penda nuzzled Lokar, romantically, sending the message of her love. Lokar knew what it meant and gently licked her cheek. The two had fallen in love.

Penda told her sister about her and Lokar but her sister was not happier. Penda asked why and Akeelah explained she had no true love. Her younger sister grew ahead of her. Akeelah was jealous of Penda. Penda laughed. "You're jealous of me/ Oh man, this is too funny! How could you be jealous of me? You're smart and pretty and I was...I was always jealous of you," Penda confessed. Akeelah was shocked at her reply and the two sisters decided to spend the whole day together. They didn't fight or tease each other. They just laughed. Penda, Akeelah, and Sabra were finally more like sisters than enemies. Penda was forever thankful of her life. She had a great family and loving boyfriend. Everything seemed perfect, so why change it??
