Name: Nyama
Meaning: Animal(Alternatively, meat)
Gender: Lioness
Mate: None
Pride: Tribe of the clifflands
Personality: Nyama is a rather uptight Lioness; she was once a relaxed and happy cub. As she grew, though, Nyama became one of the top huntresses in her pride and grew to the responsibility, becoming a very serious female without much of a sense of humor. She tends to be reserved and self-concious, refusing to let anyone get too close. She doesn't take well to joking on a mission or hunt, and will snap out at such joking. However, she is very polite and upkept. Nyama is kind and adores cubs, and plays with them frequently until there are other adults around, in which case she becomes proud and quite lady-like. She is considered by many passer-bys a perfect lioness to start a pride with, but she was sourly refused to get near any one of them. She is very proper and extremely focused - when she's charged with a task, there is no failing for her. Should Nyama fall in love, she will do everything in her power to drive them away. When absent, Nyama can almost always be found in a sparse pine woodland at the lower elevations of the clifflands, where she will often go and sit by the streams on the rocks. She is intensely in-tune with nature and loves animals, even though she hunts them - when she isn't hunting, she may even play with prey animals' young. However, they know when she's hunting, and she will never be shallow or shady enough to convince her she is playing before attacking them.

History: Nyama was once a very happy cub, born heavy and muscular, though she couldn't be considered 'fat'. She grew with a strong animalistic instinct, very close to the animals and trees. She knew all the winds, how they would change. She grew into a fantastic huntress - on of the best. She was the most trustd follower of Barafu, Theluji's father. She had no clue that Anaasi was ploting against them.
As she grew, Nyama met Kumsaliti, who she quickly fell in love with. He was a passerby, but was excepted as a very rare third male. The two became very close, up to the point of Nyama deciding she was ready to be a mother. Eventually she gave birth to his cub.
Then Kumsaliti revealed his nature, helping Anaasi lead a rebellion against Barafu so they could usurp power. He even went as far as to kill his own child, killing Nyama's newborn cub. She was enraged, and attacked him. After a fight she threw him off a cliff, though she knew it did not kill him. She went on to help Barafu ad Theluji, only to find Barafu, Anaasi, Theluji and a few others gone. After viciously fighting off the betrayers, Anaasi returned. She at the time had no clue what he had done, and watched him as he approached the cliff which Barafu always addressed them from. He roared out:
"King Barafu is DEAD!!!!"
Nyama was shocked, as were all the other lionesses. They all stood in horror as he continued his speech, as he would take power, until he was attacked from behind by one young Theluji. He viciously mauled Anaasi, forcing him out. Nyama and the other lionesses all followed suit, chasing about half their pride off to settle elsewhere.
Later on, Anaasi led many attacks on the Tribe in the Clifflands, keeping them living in fear. Eventually, Kivaku came along, flirting regularly with Nyama, but after having her own cub murdered by his father, she could not let herself fall victim again. She hated Kivaku, wanted nothing to do with him. She had to keep him in the dark. She couldn't let herself fall. But she still loved him. Nyama helped intervene when Kivaku attacked Theluji, listening sourly as he explained. The young kind told her to join him in a raid, to lead Anaasi into an ambush. They came back to Anaasi's tribe, claiming that Theluji had been killedand Kivaku had shown Nyama they were right. They led him into a vicious ambush which pushed the Betrayers far down the mountain, where they were able to settle peacefully. Nyama returned to find Kivaku standing against a stone wall, Anaasi dead at his paws with no apparent signs of what killed him...
Awhile later, Theluji sent her on a diplomatic mission to meet with Simba and establish good relations with the Pridelanders. She had a strange accent to them, but was well recieved. She met Kivaku there again, and again pushed him away.
