History: Swani was born into a pride in the outlands. It was hard and they scavanged for food so they were all very thin. One day, Swani asked why they couldn't move to a better home and his parents replied that they weren't moving anywhere and that this was as good a home as anything. He wasn't happy there and repeatedly tried to run away, but they always caught him. His best friend was his sister and they got along very well with hardly no arguments. Their father had abandoned the pride many years back and left it to their mother. They were both scared of their mother, she had a quick temper and it would flare may times a day. Swani and his sister both wanted to go out into the world but their mother prevented it.
But one cold winter, a terrible illness set in. Members of the pride started dying, including his sister, taking advantage of the distraction, Swani ran away. He didn't know why he had run away alone, he couldn't hunt and it was the middle of winter, his sister had died and he was lost without her.
He made it to the pridelands border then collapsed with fatigue, he never had enough food and now it was plain that he just didn't have enough energy.

He was found by a rogue male who had recently lost his son to the same illness that had taken Swani's pride away. The male, whose name was Cheke, adopted Swani as his own and taught him everything he knew.
Swani stayed with Cheke for a couple of years and grew into a handsome, rugged male. He was out walking one day when he saw the most beautiful lioness drinking at a small waterhole. He went over and introduced himself. When she spoke she had a commandive air about it that he liked and she was quite firey, she reminded him of his sister. They agreed to meet up again and over the next few weeks they became very close friends.

When Maua and Swani agree to run away together, they hadn't planned it very well. They wandered around on the plains for many days, looking for a place to live. Finally, they found a pride that was willing to allow them to join. They were very happy there and planned on having cubs, which they did.

Several years on, the pride's shaman told Maua that a terrible sadness and loss had befallen the Kiliaman pride. He told her that Kibibi was in danger and that if Maua ever planned on returning to the pride now was the time. Maua heeded his warning and, leaving her cubs with a trusted friend, returned to the lands in which she was born in.

When she arrived, she saw a terrible sight. Her younger sister, Kibibi, was injured and a powerful male lion was standing over her. Maua rushed forward but before she reached Kibibi another lion appeared, he was young yet looked strong. He attacked the other male and killed him, Maua rushed to her sister's side. Kibibi was fading fast and she called for Sango, Maua decided that the lion called Sango was Kibibi's son.

Kibibiwas overjoyed to see her sister after all these years but the effort of greeting her was too much. She whispered in Sango's ear before departing this world.

After her sister's death, Maua became the new leader of the pride. She offered the position to Sango but he refused and set out to find his father. Maua greeted the lionesses that she hadn't seen since cubhood and started the long process of tiding up after Sialone's reign. She sent out a messanger to Swani and her cubs and they arrived the next day, ready to start a new life in the Kiliaman pride.
