History: Cinder is a hunter in my pride, she is a valuble member for she has stamina and perseveres through hard times. She has many friends and is quite popular. She has lead quite a depressing life so far but hopes that it will look up soon. She was born in the pridelands but her mother died when she was very young, a male lion found her and knew he couldn't look after her. So, he found the Kiliaman pride and she was placed under the care of a lioness, Tari. Tari had no mate and no cubs of her own, so she was quite enthusiastic about taking Cinder in.
Cinder's grew up without knowing her true parents but she was a fine young cub with a healthy sense of curiousity, Tari cared for her well and trained her to be a hunter in the pride. Life treated her well and she made lots of friends, she grew into a beautiful lioness.
It was boiling that summer and the grass was as dry as paper. One day, when the pride was sleeping, a patch of the grass caught alight and set a cascade of sparks onto the dry plains near the pride and it set alight. Cinder awoke to raised voices and sceams, the pride was in a panic and running this way and that. She looked for Tari and saw her trapped against a boulder, Cinder ran over to try and help her out. She heard a call for help to her left and saw a young male lion about her age, trapped in the undergrowth. Her heart went out to him and she tore at the plants with her claws, the male wriggled free and she saw who it was, it was Mazai, the next leader of the pride. With a quick nod of respect, he took off to find his father.
Cinder turned around and looked for Tari, she could hear her still and raced toward the noise, Tari was trapped against the edge of a cliff and the fire, her eyes were full of fear. Cinder saw her look down the cliff and then back to the fire, Cinder saw what she was thinking and shouted "NO, don't jump!"
Cinder threw herself through the flames to try and get to her adoptive mother, the heat was unbearable and she sceamed as the flames lashed against her body, she fell back in agony and passed out. She didn't hear Tari's sceams as the flames ingulfed her.
When she woke, the flames were extingushed and there was a thick layer of ash coating the ground. Cinder stood up shakily and Mazai ran to her side. He told her that she was lucky to be alive and that his father had died in the fire. Tears slid down his face as he told her of Tari's death and she wept over the loss of her only motherly figure.
