Distinguishing Features: fur a touch darker than Kiara's, coloured paws and thighs, dark eyeshades, green eyes, Pridelander nose, dark brown tail tuft.

Personality: Shani is the last born and the wildest of the trio. She loves to play and hates to obey rules. She is very much like Kiara herself as a cub. She is a daddy's girl and loves her grandparents. Her antics often get her in trouble, but she is forgiven very soon. She is closer to her sister Sauda than her brother Chaka.

History: Shani was the youngest of Kovu and Kiara's litter. Her sister Sauda was chosen to be the future queen as she was the eldest. Shani and her siblings grew up into very lively cubs. Soon, Sauda began to spend less and less time with her sister as she had to be trained by Kiara in the duties of a queen. Shani began to feel neglected. She began to hang more and more around Chaka and grew to enjoy his company. One day, Chaka was attacked. Sauda pulled off the lion and Chaka got Shani to come with him. When they reached the site, they found Sauda having a pleasant conversation with the lion. Chaka sprang at him and Sauda knocked him off. They got into a fight and soon were not spending time with each other again. Shani found herself being the sister of two siblings who were no longer friends. Shani was forced to choose sides and had a lot of pressure on her back. One night, she had a dream from a lioness who told her that if Chaka and Sauda didn't make up soon, the entire pride would be thrown into chaos. Shani realised the lioness was her great-grandmother Sarabi. She told Uhai about the dream. They both tried talking to Sauda and Chaka but nothing worked. A few nights later, Shani had another dream from Sarabi. Sarabi told her that a battle was coming which would repair the damage done by Sauda and Chaka to each other. This was good news but Shani was more concerned about the battle. The next day, Alonzo's old pride attacked. Shani was the first on the battlefield. After the battle, Chaka apologised to Alonzo and let Sauda become mates with him. Kovu told Shani that he was proud of her. Not long after that, Shani was chosen to lead a hunting patrol. Shani couldn't have been happier in her whole life. Being the leader of a hunt was all she had ever wanted. Sauda was going to lead a different patrol and Shani was nervous. But, the hunt was successful. But, just as they turned their backs on the prey, a lion arrived and tried to steal their prey. Shani was outraged and made the lion answer to her. He told her that his name was Moyo and he had been in a zoo the whole time and didn't know how to hunt. Shani felt sorry for him and took him back with her. Kovu and Kiara welcomed him into the pride and Shani spent everyday training him to hunt. Soon, the two grew close and Shani felt like she had fallen in love with him. She just didn't know how to tell him, or whether he would return his feelings.
