Background: Kibibi is a female cub in the Kiliaman Pride over the border with priderock. She is to be future queen and is betrothed to Sialone, a male cub in the pride. She doesn't want to be forced to do this and runs away to the pridelands where she meets young Scar or Taka. They make friends and she returns to her pride so that she could remain seeing him. They become very close over the years and when teenages they realize their love for each other. She is carrying Scar's cub when her pride moves on, away from the pridelands. She can do nothing but watch her lover fade from her life. Scar, twisted in anger and pain becomes evil, he wishes to be king to prevent anything like this happening again and hurting him so.

Kibibi is very depressed and she is being forced into marrying Sialone, who she hates with a passion. She bottles her emotions up and one day they explode. She resolves to run away, but she is heavily pregnant and vunarable in her state. For her unborn cub she reluctantly stays and marries Sialone, but she keeps the cub's father a secret and telling Sialone that is his cub. She calls the cub Sango which means thunder and lightning.

When he is a teen, Sialone decides that it is time to raise an heir of his own. He dislikes Sango and doesn't think he is king material, so he tries to force Kibibi into carrying his young. She refuses and in his anger he attacks her savagely. Sango leapes in to protect his mother and gets slashes over the face by Sialone's razor-like claws, this infuriates Sango and he tries to attack again but Sialone knocks him to the floor. Sialone turns his attention to Kibibi who was curled up in a ball, wounded. He askes her again if she will carry his cubs and again she refuses.

"In that case, I will simply have to-"

He was cut short by Sango, who made a quick recovery and had leaped onto Sialone's back. Kibibi watched as her son fiercely defended her and made short work of the "king". Once that was over, he ran to Kibibi's side and studied her injuries. She knew deep down that she wouldn't recover and she resigned herself to the fact that these were her last moments. She touched the jagged cuts down her son's face and looked into his eyes, he had Scar's eyes. She whispered in his ear:

"Sialone...w...wasn't your...father....Taka...you must...search for Taka...in the pridelands...he is your...f....father"

Speaking those words of truth used up the last of her energy, she fell back and he spirit passed on to paradise.

Meanwhile back at priderock, Scar had grown up to hate his brother and long to rule. He has killed Mufasa by the time Sango finds him and can't believe it when Sango announces that Scar is his father. He asks about Kibibi and Sango recalls his time in the Kiliaman pride. The next day Simba returns, fully grown, and they fight for the throne. Sango hears about Mufasa's death but it doesn't mean anythinhng to him, all he wants is his father to be alright. Sango watches as the father he barely knew was thrown off priderock to his death.
