Design: Romeo looks a lot like his father, Upendo, as an adult . He obtained his dark "eye shadow" from Upendo and the lighter under eyes from Sarafina. His mane is split into two parts, an top coat and an upper coat, where he has both Sarafina and Upendo's mane colors. He has Sarafina's nose and blue eyes like her as well. Unlike his mother and sister, Romeo has colored paws.

History: 

Romeo was Sarafina's first cub and also the first born cub under King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi's rule. When Romeo was still an infant, unknowing of the dangers that could occur if he strayed to far from pride rock, he wandered away from his mother. Somehow, he ended up in the elephant graveyard, where he was found by the infamous hyenas - Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed. Their first motive was to kill the young cub for intruding onto their territory, but just before they attacked, Shenzi had a better idea. Taking the cub to the hyena pack grounds, Romeo never returned to pride rock that evening. Mufasa, Sarabi, Sarafina and the rest of the lionesses searched the pridelands for weeks, never able to find the lost cub. Finally, they grew to accept the fact that Romeo must have been killed by rogue lions are passerby hyenas.

But the young cub wasn't dead. He had been taken safely to the hyena grounds where Shenzi began to piece her plan together. When she had noticed the cub was a male, a plan hatched in her mind. An evil plan. The hyenas would raise this cub, loyal to nothin but Shenzi her her hyena pack, to be their secret weapon. Once trained properly over the next few years, Shenzi would watch as Romeo turned into the strongest fighter, slyest trickster, and the most charming persuader that the pride lands had ever known. And once their secret weapon had completed his training, they would send the lion to kill Mufasa and allow the hyenas to take control of the pride lands.

Her plan became easier as Scar allied himself with the hyenas and Shenzi was all to eager to help him dispose of Mufasa. Although they had tried to kill Simba, the prince, they had managed to chase him away forever. Shenzi figured that since they no longer had to worry about Mufasa's strength and his heir, Scar would be easy to overthrow and the hyenas would have control at last. By the time Romeo had finished his training, Shenzi was furious with Scar and the Lionesses for not feeding her hyena pack. Desperate to get revenge on the dark King, she sent Romeo to trick Zira into becoming his mate and baring him a cub. This was easy and when Zira had her first female cub, Vitani, Scar was furious. He knew that the lioness could not be his daughter because neither him or Zira had blue eyes that she possessed.

Shenzi watched with interest as Scar demoted Zira from being the Queen and neglected her pressence. The former Queen was devestated and she was desperate to find Scar an heir, so that he would no longer neglect his family. Zira traveled far from the pridelands and came back months later, secretly expecting a rogue lion's cubs - who she had met on her journey. When Kovu was born, she presented him to Scar and immediatley, Scar chose the strong and healthy cub to become his successor. Shenzi, angry that Scar had finally found an heir, was determined to get rid of the both of them. She sent Romeo to kill the cub and just as the lion got to pride rock, he saw the former prince, Simba, battling with Scar.

He ran to the den where the lionesses slept and quickly found Kovu, fast asleep. He raised a paw, ready to kill the cub, when two lionesses attacked him. It was Sarafina and Nala, his mother and sister! Not knowing who they were his family, he attacked them. He had seriously wounded Sarafina, and was ready to kill her when Nala spoke up, saying that Sarafina was his mother and she was his sister. He hadn't believed her at first, but as he stared at Sarafina's face, he began to get memories back from when he was a small cub. Romeo and Nala tried to save Sarafina, but she died from the extreme bloodloss, but not before telling her son that she forgave him.

Romeo and Nala left the den just in time to see that Scar had been killed and Simba was ready to take his rightful place as king. When Simba came down from pride rock, he invited Romeo to join the pride once more and the lion eagerly accepted. A few days after the battle, Simba banished the hyenas from the pridelands. Shenzi had stopped to snarl at Romeo before she led her pack away, "You have betrayed me. Soon you will be betrayed as well." Romeo watched as she and the rest of her hyenas dissappeared in the distance.

When Kiara was born, Romeo watched proudly as his niece was presented to the pride lands as the future queen. It wasn't until he learned that the princess had ventured into the outlands, where Zira and her pride lived, did he remember that he had a child - Vitani. Eager to find his daughter, Romeo ventured into the outlands and visted there often, always watching from far away as his daughter grew into a hardened lioness like her mother. He watched Zira and her pride for years until Kiara met with the young lion, Kovu, once more. Knowing that Vitani was Kovu's half sister, Romeo spent a lot of time with him. Kovu wasn't as eager to be friends with Romeo as he was with Kiara and hardly ever spoke to him.

He watched in horror as Kovu was exiled from the pridelands and convinced Kiara to go after him, knowing that she would find the young lion and bring him back. Romeo went with the rest of the pride as Zazu brought back the report that Zira was planning an attack. He found himself fighting every lioness that went near his daughter and almost attacked Nala when the two sprang into battle. Romeo was overjoyed when Vitani betrayed her mother, bringing the rest of the outlanders to join Simba's pride.

Romeo found Vitani and explained that he was her father and the two reunited at last. Nala and Simba were shocked to know that Vitani was part of their bloodline but accepted every outlander back into the pridelands.

Romeo now lives peacefully in the pridelands with his daughter, Vitani, and still anticipates the day when Shenzi will get her revenge.
