However, she is quite jealous by nature and resents anyone who has something she desires. She is a good mother, even if she is very strict and demands a lot from her cubs. In her later life, she becomes a lot more withdrawn and bitter.

History: Sassia was the second born daughter of Olric and Sia, the littermate of Quanna. She was always close with her sister as well as her half-sister Nomusa. The trio were inseparable. Sassia was a generally happy cub and. Intent with being a simple pride sister. However, her parents always favoured Quanna above her and this made her feel a little jealous of her older sister but she let it pass without incident.

Everything change when Ari entered the picture. Sassia was immediately smitten with the rogue male, head over heels in love with him and spent as much time as she could with him to try and win his affections. However, he chose Quanna as his favourite female over her. Sassia was heartbroken and enraged. She challenged her sister and fought with her but Quanna easily beat her and the two distanced themselves from each other with Nomusa caught between them.

She went on to have several cubs with Ari but none survived into adulthood. Sassia tried again and again to bear a living cub and when she was on the verge of giving up, she had Tamu and Sizwe. She was overjoyed with her twins, lavishing love and attention on both, especially since Sizwe would one day lead the pride.

When Judas came along and overthrew Ari, Sassia became scared for her  cubs,  both were young at the time as was afraid Judas would kill them as they the cubs of the previous male. Sassia hid them both away from the pride and succeeded in keeping them hidden for a week before they were discovered.

Judas brought the two cubs before them, Sassia was beside herself believing both would be killed. However, Judas ruled that both would be spared as they were both entering their teenage years...but Sizwe was to be exiled on pain of death because he was male. Sassia was outraged and demanded that Sizwe be allowed to stay until adulthood as there was no way he'd survive on his own on the savannah. Judas didn't change his mind and Sassia was forced to part with her cub. From then on she harboured a secret resentment for Judas in her heart.

When Tamu had her first cub with Judas, a girl named Ari, Sassia gave up all hope of her descendants ever rising high. She remained distant with both her daughter and granddaughter, preceding to spend time on her own or with Nomusa, who was the only one of her siblings still living in the pride, Nomusa was not close with her after what had happened between them and Quanna in their youth but Sassia did not care.

Eventually, she saw all the cubs of the pride grow to adulthood and leave. However, she was not prepared for the return of Zuri and her granddaughter Ari killing her. She was just as shocked with the events asthe rest of the pride. However, these events lead her to reconciling with her daughter, Tamu, but her granddaughter never warmed to her and left the pride soon after Zuri's death.

Another blow came when their pride came up against another pride lead by a tyrannical lion name Malka and his mate Halla. There was a large battle, in the end their pride won but now it out cost. Nomusa died saving Judas and Sassia was heartbroken at the death of her only sister. No amount of words from the other pride members could console her and guilt ate away at her for her jealousy and hatred of Quanna which isolated her from both her sisters and no she could never regain the relationships she'd lost.

Sassia lived to see the birth of her last two grandchildren, Erevu and Duni, before she passed on peacefully in her sleep.
