Personality: Kya is a very energetic cub, she cannot keep still for long and seems to have almost limitless energy. She has a great love of adventure and is very curious which is why she is always exploring the Pridelands, she never goes near the border, and sometimes can get heself into dangerous situations.

History: Kya was the youngest of Jia and Enzi's cubs and was quite sickly when she was born, at one point it was feared she might die. However, Kya pulled though by the skin of her teeth but there was always fears that she would become sick again. Kya hated being treated as vulnerable and this made her energetic, hoping to prove that she wasn't as vulnerable as everyone percieved.

As Kya got older she became more and more adventurous, her curiousity had no bounds and she often escaped the lionesses to explore her home, often going with her brothers Jabari and Zuberi.

One day, she was out exploring with Zuberi, as Jabari was visiting his friend Kanoa, and the two cubs came across two lionesses, one was Kivuli and the other was their great grandmother Zira. Both cubs were quicky discovered and were chased. Kya was caught but Zuberi escaped and she was badly injured and left for dead.

Luckily for Kya, she was found by Akasha, on her way back to the Waterside Pride and she took a badly injured Kya with her.

When Kya awoke, she was in the Waterside Pride, being cared for by Akasha. She was too scared and upset to speak, or even give her name. Soon the lionesses nicknamed her Sahara, because she was found near the desert, and this became her new name.

Kya (or Sahara as she was now known) grew up in the Waterside Pride with Akasha as her 'mother'. She eventually began to speak but never gave any information as to who her family were or why she was abandoned. She often misses her family but is too scared to return to the Pridelands.
