Kufa and his brother Kuishi were born away from any pride, and raised on the move ,mother would tell them stories of the pride she and her father came from, Kuishi would ask why they didn’t return. Kufa thought this was dumb ,he liked being alone with his family.

Kufa enjoyed watching and learning how to hunt from his mother and would often play hunting games with Kuishi, among other games he would ‘protect’ his mother from invaders… the invaders were just small bugs but he found it fun.

At a few months old his mother left him and Kuishi in a den telling them to stay one morning, he waited and waited and his mother returned, she seemed happy , and explained to the cubs that they would soon be at a new home to live at and not have to be on the move all the time, she lead them to a land a long walk away, Kufa was amazed to see a longs ways off a large towering rock, mother told them they would head to the rock the next day.

Kufa sat respectfully as his mother talked to a golden lion on the rock the next day ,Slightly annoyed at Kuishi who figited next to him, Kufa could only just hear his mother say something about princes maybe? He wasn't sure, mother would then tell the brothers this was their new home. It wasn’t long before Kufa met Kata and Bundi the king's grandcubs along with two other cubs, Kuzira and Kuna.

At first Kufa didn’t mind being around all the cubs but over time he felt himself not wanting to be around Kuishi and Bundi so he would ask them to explore on their own, when he told the girls they went to Kuna went to find them, no loss kufa thought, she wasn't royalty. This thought of he should only befriend royalty ended up sticking with him, he wanted to be the next king of the pridelands and he could only do that if he married Kata and so he kept keeping his brother away from her , at one point Kuishi Bundi and Kuna just started to not even ask.

Everything was going to Kufas plan ,that was until one day the Majordomo in training found them, Kijivu rushed to kata, telling her something had happened and Bundi was hurt, on returning to pride rock the king informed the cubs from now on they would have to have Kijivu with them at all times and have to stay together.

This rule stayed in place till they were teenagers. Kufa still wanted to be the next king and knew Kuishi and Kata had become friends. He thought she couldn't love Kuishi though , she had to love him right?, these questions went around his head till one day he asked her to be his mate in the future.She said no.

Hurt Kufa ran off, he kept running until he came across a forest, he told himself he would calm down then return but his anger grew days turned to weeks, weeks to months, the forest was his new home, He would go on to live here for some years alone.That was until one day Kijivu turned up, the bird had been looking for him, her message was that Kuishi was looking for him, and where to meet him. Kuishi turned up to the meeting with two cubs, Kuishi explained they where his cubs and he and the mother didn’t think now was the time for cubs, not wanting to harm the cubs they wanted Kufa to take them and keep them safe. Kufa agreed, he wasn't sure why but he did.
