Personality: Kwanza is fun loving and likes things to be simple. He's lazy and would prefer lounging in the sun than going for a hunt. As a cub he, Jua and Usiku would disobey their parents and run off to have fun.

History:  Kwanza was first born and entitled to be king. This scared him as a cub, he didn't want to be a leader but his brother Usiku swore that he would help him. When Jua and Hodari arrived, Kwan was enitially jelous, as the relationship between Jua and Usiku made it hard for the brothers to stay close. Eventually, though he warmed to her and they became best friends. He is very caring and hates violence.

One day, as a teen, during a drought, Kwan was searching for water and saw a female. He was a peaceful lion but this was still a tresspasser so he ran up to her growling. A second lion though, a male, appeared to defend her. Kwanza stopped unwilling to fight. The male convinced him to allow them to speak to Simba. The male wanted to join the pride but Simba was hesitent and consulted some of the older lions. One lioness admited she was the older lions mother and also comfirmed Simba's suspicions this lion was Scars son. Upon questioning Scar's son, Hofu, pleaded he wasn't like his father, nor his daughter, Tai, like her grandfather. They were allowed to stay but ranking at the bottom. Kwan didn't much care about how they ranked or who they were related to. They became friends as he grew to an adult. Usiku was still with Jua and she was now pregnant. It was then Kwanza realised he wanted to have a family and also realised he loved Tai. Tai had always loved Kwan and was overjoyed to be mates with him. Kwan was so happy. After a few blissful months with his love, friends and family he discovered he would be father. He was so happy. For the first time ever he set out on a hunt by choice wanting to give his mate a good meal. He was too optimistic about what he wanted to catch and in his inexperiance he caused a stampede of water buffalo. Later that day he was found dead, leaving Usiku devastated and in line to the throne and his beloved Tai pregnant and alone.
