Jella was born in Mufasa's pride, but doesn't remember when. She was too young when her family moved to a new pride. There, Jella was raised in the Night Bird Pride. She loved it there and didn't want any other pride. She could only get happier when she met Regu and had a daughter. Jella was always a motherly creature, so Imani was raised in good paws. She always had a little uneasy feeling whenever Imani played with Artemis and Nigera since they were outsiders, but said nothing since Imani liked to play with them. When she was attacked by Nigera, Nigera became Jella's enemy as well as Imani's. When Imani came home one day with Kori at her heels, Jella didn't know what to expect. She knew her daughter just wanted to get the poor cub home, Jella couldn't help but feel like a matchmaker as she saw her cub playing with a new male. When Kori went home, Jella was sad to see her cub disappointed and hoped that they got to see each other again someday. When she saw Simba and the other lions from Mufasa's pride, Jella sensed something familiar about them....
