Personality: The very paragon of diligent motherhood, Ducky's mother is one of the busiest parents in the Land Before Time saga, and one of the most emphatic when it comes to family. She has the largest brood of any of them (thirteen according to Ducky, though the number is inconsistent), and hers is also the only family to contain an adopted child: Spike. Much like Littlefoot and his grandparents, she pays little attention to species boundaries.
As a mother, she is very patient; in the first movie she takes it in stride when forced to snatch Ducky out of harm's way.
Struggles: Although she does not have as much concern over species boundaries as some of the other Great Valley residents, she does struggle at times over how to raise Spike. In the eighth movie, The Big Freeze, when Spike befriends a passing herd of his own kind, she struggles over whether to hold onto him and raise him as a swimmer, or to let him be with his own kind.
Family: Her husband is only ever seen in the background and has never had any speaking parts. In terms of offspring she has an initial clutch usually shown consisting of four, though the original movie presents six eggs and Ducky at one point maintains that there were thirteen. She has since had another clutch of eggs, seen in the Great Valley Adventure, of which nothing else is known.
Friends: Ducky's Mother seems to get along pretty well with just about anyone. In particular she has been seen to have a close connection with Tippy's Mother, who at one time briefly adopted Spike. She also has a strong rapport with Ducky's friends.
Seen In: Ducky's mother has appeared in all of the movies released so far except for The Secret of Saurus Rock (VI).
Other: At the end of the first movie, Ducky's Mother is shown in a vivid pink hue, contrary to all her other appearances.
Tress MacNeille, who voices Ducky's Mother, also voices Petrie's Mother.
