Crystal, meanwhile, still in the pound, was asleep. She was awoken by the dog catcher talking to his boss. Curious, she slipped in and listened in.
Dog catcher: Boss, are you crazy?!
Boss: I am sorry, but that grey-and-white dog has been here too long. We need to euthanize her.
Crystal: :o What?
Dog catcher: But she is such a beautiful dog... :(
Boss: I agree. It hurts me to do this, but it must be done. We can't have that dog here any longer.
Dog catcher: Boss, please don't make me do this.
Boss: It must be done. Now, go get the eauthinization shot. It is time.
Crystal: Oh no! They're going to put me down! i need to get out of here! NO! Noooooo pleeease! (Bangs furiously against the cage bars) get me out of here!! Heeeeelp!!!
In case you don't know, 'euthanize' means to kill an animal without causing it any pain. :! I don't know why shelter's do it, it's so sad. But anyway, will Crystal escape?? Or will the dog catcher put her down? Find out in part 3, coming soon!!!
