Elsie sat on the old car on one of the junk piles in The Junkyard and muttered to herself things like: "So unfair!" or "They're all idiots!"

"I hope ya don't mean me," Bandit said, climbing up the pile towards Elsie. Elsie jumped and quickly rushed her fur down.

"Hi, Bandit," Elsie said sweetly.

"What's with you?" He asked.

"I just found out that most of the other street dogs don't remember me 'cause I ain't sung for a while.

"Why ain't ya?"

"Because I ain't got any ideas!" Elsie sighed. I need some serious help.

"Well, I can seriously help ya," Bandit shrugged. Elsies heart skipped a beat. She could finally spend some time with Bandit, just the two of them!

"Okay!" Elsie gasped. Bandit cocked his head, he seemed shocked at Elsie's reaction. "I mean: Sure, sounds great. I'll come to the hideout at eight, ok?" Elsie smiled.

"Sure," Bandit simply replied. Elsie nodded and walked down the junk pile. She forgot all about her annoyance at all of the street dogs. She quietly said to herself: "SCORE!"

"Hi, Bandit," Elsie giggled, moving the couch that hid the enterance to the hideout. Elsie had spent an hour grooming herself. As far as she was concerned, she'd never looked more pretty in her life. Bandit's eyes widened when he saw Elsie.

"You...uh...look a little dolled up, don't ya?" Bandit asked.

"Thank you," Elsie chuckled. She walked in. Suddenly, her heart sank. The whole gang was in the hideout, including Dash, Lola and Bobo!

"Uh, hi everyone," Elsie tried to say, firmly. "What are you all doin' here?"

"We're gonna help you with your song. Duh!" Dash joked.

"...Okay..." Elsie said. Bandit sat down on a pillow.

"Let's get started," Bandit said. "Who's got an idea?"

"I do!" Travis barked. Banjdit gestured for Travis to jump up. He started to sing...very slowly.

When I stare at the clouds, I wonder

what things could up there

The more I watch and gaze up

into the transparent air!

"No offense Travis. But are we trying to make up a cool song or a funeral song?" Bandit joked. Eveyone laughed except Travis and Elsie.

"Guys this is serious. If I can't sing then my popularity score will go down big time!" Elsie panicked.

"Well. I do have another idea," Travis voulenteered. He started to sing again even SLOWER!

The world is an oyster

floating around in space.

If all the world is an oyster

then where is the giant pearls place!

"That was worse than the first one!" Coco groaned.

"I knew I was wasting my time!" Elsie said angrily. She stomped through the exit without even saying bye.

"Nice work Travis!" Lola exagerated.

"Hey. It wasn't my fault!" Travis argued.

"For once he's right. We can't blame it all on Travis," Bandit stood up for his best friend. "We've gotta help Elsie. 'Cause, think about if. We're Elsies friends. So if she gets popular. We'll get popular, too. We need a plan," Bandit explained.

"I've got it!" Coco said. "Tommorrow, we'll all take turns trying to help Elsie make a song."

"Yeah!" Bobo agreed. "We'll make The Song Of The Streets!"

"Bobo and I'll make a song that's lively and fun!" Coco planned. Bobo nodded.

"No! A really fast song is the thing to do!" Tangerine said.

"No way! I'll make up a song about digging!" Dash planned.

"Now, why would anyone listen to that?" Tangerine asked.

"I don't expect anyone to. It's just my favourite passtime," Dash explained.

"I know. A love song!" Bandit planned. "One that ain't slow anyway," He added.

"I think it's a great plan. But's what's Travis gonna do?" Bobo asked.

"Me? Uh... I guess I could-"

"You can just watch the rest of us in action!" Coco said.

"Let's all get home and start making up our songs," Tangerine said. "See ya. guys...and Lola," Tangerine said. Everyone else soon left aswell.

"Oh, man! I've gotta make a song or I'll be the odd one out," Travis thought to himself the next morning as he came out of the old abandoned childrens play house where he lived. "I know. I'll ask Bandit what he thinks," Travis headed towards the hideout. He was about to move the couch out of the way but he suddenly heard voices and decided to listen.

"Thanks for invitin' me over, Bandit," Elsie giggled as she tried to make her ears look straight. She'd lost the look she had the previous night. "What did ya wanna show me?" She asked.

"Breakfast and a show!" Bandit said.

"Score!" Elsie thought. "What're we eating?"

"It's not really a breakfast thing but I bought some ciabatti (italian bread) from Tony's," Bandit said. He pulled out two large loaves from behind the green couch. He kicked some of it towards Elsie.

"I ain't complainin' or nothin' but I don't like-" but Bandit kicked the ciabatti right at Elsie's face and as she spoke it went into her mouth. Elsie choked. Bandit punched her on the back and the ciabatti shot out of her mouth. "Bandit I-"

"-Want more. Okay," Bandit kicked a smaller piece at Elsie. It landed in her mouth again. Elsie tried to swallow it. She didn't want Bandit to think she was ungrateful. She finally forced the bread down her throat. She started panting hard. Elsie really felt sick.

Travis couldn't really hear everything they said but to him it sounded like Bandit was on a roll with his plan.

"I guess Bandit's got company. I can't ask him what he thinks about the song when Elsie's there or it'll ruin everything," Travis groaned to himself.

Bandit was just finishing his loaf of his ciabatti, while Elsie was on the floor trying to make sure that hers didn't come back up. Bandit pulled Elsie up off the floor. "Bandit. I've tried to tell you, I don't like that stuff!" Elsie panted.

"Oh...well. I'l find something you do like to eat and then I'll show you the show," Bandit said. You can ride on my back if ya want," Bandit offered. Elsie didn't feel sick anymore and she was up on Bandit's back before he even knew it
