4-year-old Liam "Whirlwind" Collins had just returned home from school (his house is just a block from his school, so his parents allow him to walk home, and they gave him a house key) and was waiting for his parents, Angel and Scamp, to come home from working at the Children's Hospital in downtown Chicago and the Police Department, they lived in a second floor 2-bedroom, 1 bath apartment out in Chicago's northwest suburbs. Whirlwind walked to his bedroom wondering why they named him "Whirlwind" and what life was like before he was born while he was in his room playing with his toys. Angel opened his bedroom door, she was wearing a short-sleeve blue v-neck snap button scrub over a long sleeve white turtleneck sweater, pink scrub pants, white socks, and reebok tennis shoes. Whirlwind gasped in surprise, he loves his mother more than his father.

"Whirlwind, I'm home sweetheart!" Angel said sweetly

"MOOMMYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Whirlwind said happily as he ran to her, he then jumped into her arms, hugged her, and kissed her

"arrghhh" Angel said wrapping him in her arms "Did my tiger have a good day today?"

"Yes Mommy?" Whirlwind said happily

"Come on sweetheart, let's go up front." Angel said carrying him up front to the couch she sat down on the right corner seat while Whirwind sat down next to her, he was so tired from school, that he laid his head down on Angel's lap, but he didn't have to worry because it was Christmas break in the morning which meant no School, and he could spend all week hugging and kissing Angel.

"I think someone's tired. Come on tiger, stay awake sweetheart, I still haven't made dinner yet."

In the meantime, Scamp had come home from work, (Angel always arrives home first.)

"Aw man, that was some drug bust, Whirlwind I'm home."

"DADDDYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Whirlwind said he ran up to Scamp and hugged him, Angel smiled as she was preparing dinner.

During dinner Scamp turned on ABC 7 to check the weather the weatherman said that they were in for snow all next week which meant no school for Whirlwind. Scamp and Angel had to work but who was going to take care of their son? Angel decided to stay all next week and watch him.

After dinner Scamp did the dishes. Angel looked over to Whirlwind and saw that he was about to turn on the tv, Angel then looked over to the clock, it was 8:30, she then turned over to her son again and walked toward him.

"Whirlwind, come on sweetie, it's time for your bath." Angel said, she picked up Whirlwind and took him to the bathroom tub. When she turned on the water to hot Whirlwind took of his clothes and Angel put him in the tub. While Angel was scrubbing him he played with his bath toys Angel picked up one and booped him on his nose and he giggled.

As soon as he was rinsed off Angel pulled him out of the tub, drained the water, pulled his bath toys out and put them on the sink, and finally she wrapped him up in a towel and carried him to his room where she put on his PJ's she then took him to her room for a while to play. She took off her socks and shoes, then she layed him on her bed, took off his socks, and then placed his left foot on her lap and starting to wiggle his toes.

"I've got your toes!" Angel giggled

"MAHAHAHAMEEHEHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Whirlwind laughed as he watched Angel play "This Little Piggie" with his toes.

Angel said it exactly as it goes

"This Little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home, this little piggy had roast beef and this little piggy had none, and this little piggy went wee, wee, wee all the way home. she said adding a foot tickle.

Angel then picked him up again placed him on her shoulders and walked him around the room playing a game they called "Captain Lightning".

Scamp heard them playing and entered the room being Captain Lightning's arch-enemy "The Twister!"

"Oh-no agent Mommy it's The Twister, he's out to steal the medicine we need for the city."

"Don't worry Captain I've got him."

"Oh no you don't rooarrr" Scamp picked up his wife and put her on the bed

"Jumper NOW!" Whirlwind yelled he jumped on top of Scamp and tackled him.

"Captain Lightning saves the day." Whirlwind said excited

Angel and Scamp got up and giggled Angel then picked up Whirlwind "Ohohhkkahahayyy" Angel chuckled "It's time for this little captain to go to bed if he wants to clean up The Twister again tomorrow."

"But mommy.."

"No sweetie, it's bedtime."

Angel carried Whirlwind to his bedroom and put him in his bed, she then tucked him in, and kissed him goodnight, Whirlwind pretended to fall asleep.

When Angel closed the door, Scamp carried her to the couch, where they sat and watched "Star Wars Episode IV"

"Hey Tenderfoot, maybe we should try and let our son stay up with us sometime."

"Yeah, your probably right, snooks." Scamp said he and Angel then kissed

Later, when they were still awake, (it was only 9:00 at night) Whirlwind got out of bed, and secretly spied on his parents kissing.

"Ewwww!" he whispered, watching from behind a table in the hallway. Even though he whispered it Scamp and Angel heard it, Angel and Scamp walked into the hallway and caught Whirlwind. Whirlwind then gasped when he saw them staring at him but they weren't mad or yelling at him.

"Whirlwind, what are you doing out of bed sweetheart?" Angel said, picking him up and holding him.

"I wanna hear a story."

"Hey, Sport, it's kinda late for stories." Scamp said

"No, Daddy, I wanna hear a story!"

"Oh Ok." Angel said, She carried Whirlwind back to the couch where he sat on her lap.

"Now what story do you want us to tell?" Scamp asked

"Why you named me 'Whirlwind', and what it was like before I was born."

"Well, life was pretty much like it is now, only different." Scamp said "But, here's how your name came about, I had just come home from work one day and your mother, was cooking dinner, we were living in a small apartment then, while she was cooking she looked so excited and she came up to me and kissed me, I asked her what was up and what did you say honey?"

Angel smiled at that "I said 'Scamp I have wonderful news I'm pregnant!'"

"First three months went by and we didn't realize if you were a boy or girl, so we went to Doctor Rovlin about it, and went he came back with the tests, he said he wasn't sure about it either, so after the 7th month we started coming up with boy names and girl names

your girl names were

Rachel, Emily, and Danielle after my third sister

and your boys names were

James, Kyle, and Liam

and if you were a girl we picked "Rachel" and if you were a boy we picked "Liam"

"Finally we reached the final month and Angel was complaining about pain she told me to take her the hospital, I knew then that it was time."

"When we reached the hospital the doctors gave her some vaccines to stop the pain they carried her down to the delivery room where your mother's water finally broke and for an hour she pushed and pushed and pushed, finally, out you came."

"We knew then that you were a boy and we named you Liam Collins 'Whirlwind' was your nickname because it was my nickname from your grandpa."

When Scamp finished his story he saw that Whirlwind had finally fallen asleep on Angel's scrub

"Shhhhh!" Angel said

"Okay snooks."

"You know what, Scamp, he's so cute when he's asleep." Angel whispered

Instead of carrying him back to bed they just looked at him sleeping like a baby they then looked at each other and kissed each other on the lips. Angel then looked down at her sleeping son and kissed him, then she took a blanket off the couch and covered him up keeping him warm.

Finally Angel carried her sleeping son back to bed and tucked him in, she then gave him a good night kiss.
