again.
"So...tired..." Coco panted, pausing for a while.
"Just leave Dash to do it. Just a few more feet and we'll be out of the dig site. Dash started digging up. After a few minutes, he heard a crack in the roof of the tunnel. " I think I've done it. Dash scratched the soil one more time, but then...
"RUN!" Dash yelled. Dash had dug a tunnel up to the bottom of a lake. The water started to rush through. The gang ran back through the tunnel. They emerged back into the ditch. The man was gone, but the hole was really deep and the water was rising in the ditch quickly. Then, Dash got an idea. "Just float," He told them. Bandit, Travis and Coco nodded at Dash. They realised that they were floating higher as the water rose. They eventually managed to heave themselves out of the ditch. Then, Bandit notcied something floating in the ditch. It was the bone that he'd found earlier. He picked it up out of the water. A man noticed the bone that Bandit were carrying and ran towards them.
"That's a dinosaur bone. Bring it back here!" He shouted.
"One small dinosaur," Coco gulped.
"Never mind that, run!" Dash ordered. Everyone ran as fast as they could. Once the gang got out of the dig site, Coco, Travis and Dash ran in one direction and Bandit ran in another, carrying the bone. The man ran after Bandit. Bandit made a B-line for The Junkyard.
***
Tangerine was happily relaxing on her pillow inside the trash can. "My plan's worked," Tangerine thought. "Bandit hasn't come asking for bones for nearly a day." Suddenly, Tangerine heard footsteps coming from outside the trash can. Just then, Bandit's head appeared through the hole in the back of the trash can.
"Hi, Tangie!" Bandit panted.
"Not again!" Tangerine growled. "You're not taking any of my bones!" She barked.
"I'm not-"
"If bones means more to you than our friendship then-"
"But-"
"No buts. This is the last straw. Get out of my home!" Tangerine yapped.
"TANGERINE!" Bandit yelled.
"What!?" Tangerine asked impatiently.
"I-" But then, Bandit was dragged out of the trash can. Then man from the dig site grabbed the bone out of Bandits mouth and walked away. "Oh nuts!" Bandit complained. Tangerine came out of her trash can.
"Bandit what was-"
"Tangerine, I'll get you another bone, so you won't have to move away," Bandit shouted to Tangerine as he ran out of The Junkyard.
"Wha- Bandit got a bone...for me?" Tangerine cocked her head.
***
It was a pitch black night. There was no noise in the Junkyard except Tangerine heading for Bandit's home, which was also the gangs hideout. Tangerine was dragging a bone with her. She pushed it under the green sofa that covered up the hole that lead into the hideout. Once she was sure that the bone had fallen down the hole, Tangerine headed back to her home.
***
Tangerine was peacefully sleeping until she heard the lid to her trash can fall to the floor. She leaped up and banged her head on the roof of the overturned trash can.
"Morning!" A voice called out. Tangerine rubbed her head and looked up, Bandit was there.
"What do you want?" She asked.
"I found this in the hideout. I don;t know where it came from, but since it's a bone, I thought that I'd give it to you," Bandit said. He pushed the bone towards Tangerine.
"Um...thanks Ditso...how thoughtful," She said. "I think that it's time for-"
"Thank you Tangerine. Bandit grabbed the bone again and started to chew on one end. "You have some too," Bandit said, gesturing to the other end of the bone. Tangerine hesitated, but then she started chewing it, too.
"I don't want to sound all soft of anything, Tangie. But I'm glad we're friends," Bandit blushed.
"Me too," Tangerine agreed, also blushing. Then the two of them carried on eating the bone, happily, together!
