Return to Nome
Kei and Zero were walking down a damp alley when Kei noticed Zero seemed a little down and unsure about something.
"Zero, is something wrong?"He asked.
Zero looked up and sadly Replied
"Huh? Oh, I'm fine, it's just I'm starting to wonder about my faimly in Nome. I mean I can barely remember my mother and fathers' face and, well, there's one strange face I keep seeing. I guess I'm just homesick, is all."
Kei cuddled beside Zero, and softly said to him " Well, if you are homesick we could always go back to Nome".
Zero looked supprised, and hesitated.
"Well, um, wha-what?! We can't go back to Nome! I mean, how are we going to get there? "
Kei smiled and suggested; "Well we could always get Sophie to take us there on a boat."
Zero didn't know about the idea and new he had to reveal his secret 
"Well, I dont know, Kei. I . . . um . . . have to tell you somthing; I have a fear of, um, uh . . . water." 
Kei supriseily opened her eyes and closely looked at Zero.
"Really Zero, water? Well it makes sense; you being shipped here, but I know someone who can get us a plane to take us some of the way, then a train the rest of the way. "
Zero was unsure of the idea at first, but soon he warmed up to the idea. 
"I don't know. I guess it would be good to see my parents, if there's a chance I could, well, why not? " 
So Zero and Kei were going back to Nome - both of them went to the darling house to see their friends before they left.
Zero and Tramp were talking upstairs while Kei was in the garden with Lady.
"So Zero, you're going back?" 
Zero looked at Tramp unsure. "Yeah, I knew this day would come. It should be soon, becuse we are gonna settle down pretty soon ."
Tramp smiled. "Ah, right. Want to make the most of now, huh? " 
Zero nodded, still unsure.
"Yeah but, I don't know how to be a father, Tramp." 
Zero lay down on the floor.
"Look, you know It'll work out in the end and you have friends to help you two." 
Zero did cheer up a little.
"Yeah, that's true. I just hope I can be the dad Kei wants me to be . . . "
Zero stood up walk down the stairs to get Kei.

A few hours later, Kei and Zero left to sneak on a boat. 
Zero was blind folded so he didn't know he was there, but he did cry a little on the way.
38 hours later, they were on a train to Nome, the air got slowly colder as they came closer to home.
Zero looked at Kei knowing her bad memories were coming back.
"So Kei, were really going back were our lifes began.
"Yep. We're going home . . . Just hopefully, we don't see yor parents. I guess sorry if that brought back some memories. " 
Kei was still looking down, unsure.
"It's ok, Zero. What my parents did was unforgivable. Let's just get some rest before we get there." 
Zero and Kei went to the corner of the cart Zero lay down and Kei layed her head on his stomach, sort of like a pillow. She knew he wouldnt mind.
3 hours later, the train was at Nome.
While Zero was still asleep in the cart they were on, Kei nudged him trying to wake him up eager to explore. 
"Zero come on! Wake up! We're here! Come on, get up!"
"Huh? Oh, we're here . . . ? Oh right. Ah, it's so good to feel the coldness again."
"They have got some pretty nice stuff here!"
"Yeah, but it is the same to me. They're just like the stuff back in the streets of - "
"Oh! Now come look in that window! A dog sled! Bet you won't see that back home. "
"Well, more or less anyway. We're not gonna find what we came for in the town. Come on, there's a forest near by." 
Both of them went to to the forest. Kei tried to get Zero to admit that they were lost.
"Come on, Zero! We're lost, just admit it. " 
"We are not lost! We are . .. um . . . well - " 
"Lost. No 'we are uh'. . . " 
Trying to think of an excuse of why they're lost, he noticed a faimiler tree with two paw prints.
"Hey! Look at this tree and these scratches! It looks so faimi - " 
Just then a grey dog tackled Zero, knocking him into the snow, the kicked - up snow got into Keis' eyes.
The grey dog was on top of Zero holding him down he then looked at him closley. 
"Wait a minuite. The white coat, the grey eyes . . . Zero, is that you? " 
"Yes. Yes, who are you? Wait, it's your that face I've been seeing. . . ."
"Well, you don't remember you best friend then, huh?" 
"Best friend? What are talking abou - oh, wait a sec! Kei, are you alright? " 
"Ah, I'm - I'm fine zero, thanks. Just who is he?" 
"My name is Ria, I'm Zeros' best friend. " 
"No. Sorry, uh, Ria - I just can't seem to remember . . ." 
"Right then, uh, ok. Try putting your paw on this tree and try to remember." 
"Ok, I guess. . . " 
"Zero, can I talk to you privately now?" 
"Sure Kei." 
"Look Zero, this could be a trick." 
"I know it might be, but if he is who he is my best friend, as he says, then he can tell me about my past. " 
She looked at him unsure 
"Ok, fine. But be on your guard." 
Zero smirked; "Aren't I always?" 
Kei laughed sacastitly.
"Well, not always. . . ." 
" Ha-ha. Funny." 
Zero turned to Ria; "Ok, Ria. I'll do it, but are you sure this will work? "
"Just trust me, Z. It will work" he looked at him hesititing 
"Hm. Alright then, I trust ya, Ria." 
Zero put his paw on one of the two faimiler pawprints. He tried to remember with no sucess. 
Ria put his paw on the secand print and then a spark of meomory came in to Zero and everything came back to him.
"I, well, I remember everyting. Ria, I'm sorry I didn't belive you before."
Ria chuckled. "Ah, it's ok, Z. I wouldn't expect you to remember at first. So, uh, now who's she? " 
"I'm Kei, Zeros' mate." 
"Right! Nice to meet you. You know Zero, you have changed. How come? " 
"Well I was like that, but then when me and Keis' eyes met I changed forever, and I'm glad I did." 
"Aw, Zero, stop." 
"Well it's true. " 
"So Zero, I guess you're really curious about your parents then, huh?"
"Wait, you mean they're alive?! "
"Well, yes. Your mother and your dad are off on a hunting trip."
"Wow. . . . I can't belive it. I've got so much to ask you." 
"Yes, I know you do. Come on, I'll take you to her." 
Ria led Zero and Kei led them to Zeros' mother through the snow. 
"So Zero, Kei, how'd you meet, anyway?" 
"Oh! Well we, uh, met, uh, I really can't remember. " 
Kei rolled her eyes at Zero and looked at him strangely. 
"Zero, really. You don't remeber? Oh come; it was under the moonlight and stars. " 
"Hm? Oh, yeah. Don't know how I forgot. "
"We're here. " 
Zero, Kei and Ria had arivved at the place were Zero spent a few of his life. 
"So here's your home, Z."
He and Kei walked into the cave curiosly looking around. 
"A cave? Wow! This feels sorta weird, and kinda like home." 
"Well, duh. Most of the wolves live in caves."
Zero looked arond and spotted his old bed. 
"So this is my old bed? I can't belive it's been so long." 
Ria laughed. "Well, yeah. It's been a while since you left." 
Zero sighed the mist comeing from his mouth. "Ah, don't remind me. I remeber being thumped around tortured and the the cemicals beening injected in to me . . ." 
Kei cuddled beside him. "It's ok." 
He looked into her eyes smiling.
"Zero?" A white dog apeared just at the tip of the cave. They looked at her "mom" - she smiled and ran up to him hugging her long-lost son.
"Zero! I've missed you so much! "
A tear fell from her eye and Z blushed.
"Heh-heh. Uh, mom? My mates' here." 
Snow gasped and was overwhelemd with joy. "You have a mate?! Oh, she's pretty,smart, nice, drop dead gorgeous... oh is this her?!" 
Zero and Kei looked at Snow. Zero didnt kmow why his mother was being this.... uh... well insane
"Yes she is, this is Kei." 
Snow smiled and circled round her. "Oh, well, she is very pretty. Nice posture. Grey eyes. White, clean but not too clean fur and..." 
Ria wispered into his ear "Yeah, when you were kidnapped she kinda lost it. But she isn't all crazy - shes' just a little off-edge. In fact, from six years she really gotten saner .... uh ish. Sane-ish. . . ." 
She was still circling Kei, but stoped with a smirk on her face. 
"Anyway I'm white.... white snow." 
Kei looked at her confused.
"Uh, nice to meet you." 
Zero talked himself in. "So,weres' dad?" 
She started to cry and Ria looked at her confused.
"Why are you crying? Vics' just hunting with a pack." 
She started to cry harder. "I.... I
