It was a warm, spring morning. Manik rose up from his usual spot on the tattered rug. He yawned. Then he want over to Annette, who was still asleep on the couch.  He nudged her awake, and she got up and yawned. Of course, Tuck was awake already like always. He was struggling to get Jip awake so he could get food. Annette chuckled. "I suppose it's going to be a while until we get food, eh?" Tuck sighed. "I suppose so. Jip likes to sleep in all the time." Annette thought for a moment. "You know, Manik has been teaching me how to hunt. Maybe I can go out and get us some."

"Are you sure?" Annette nodded. "Yeah, I'll be fine." Annette went under the  tunnel and disappeared. Moments later, she arrived in the rabbit's home. She crouched down and waited. Then a rabbit appeared, and she pounced. Got  it! She was on her wa back to the gang when she heard something.

She halted herself. It seemed to be coming outside of the forest. Slowly she moved over there. Then she heard the noise stop. She shrugged. Then she saw a shadow of a man with a net above h er. The Dog Catcher! She ran. She want under the tunnel. She plopped the rabbit down so she could speak. "I think the dog catcher's outside! I almost get caught!"  Tuck  walked up and look outside. "Yep, he's out there. It's okay, though, we're underground! Nice catch, by the way."

"Thanks."   After they had eaten, they had completly forgotten about the dog catcher. Annette stepped outside for a drink. Then before she kne it, she had a net over her. "No collar." he mumbled. He put her in a cage. "I have to get the other's attention!" She said. She howled.

Manik jumped up. "Did you hear something?" Drake bounced off his table. "Must be Annette!" They all went outside. Sure enough, they saw the dog catcher's truck pulling out. They all raced after it. "It's no use." Jip said when they were now beside Tony's. "We have to just head for the pound." Drake rolled his eyes. "Thanks, Mr. Positive." he said. Tuck caught his breath. "Anyone have a plan?"

Manik stepped up. "You all know Skip, Fang, Rose, and Afghanna, right?" "Yeah," Tuck said. "Well, Fang is a good street dog, almost better than the Tramp. Maybe he can help us." Tuck nodded. "Good thinking, Manik. Does anyone know where we can find him?"

Drake did. He told them and soon they were on the road. Not long after, they arrived in the city. They saw Fang the minute they were there. "Fang, we need your help." Fang growled. "How to we know we can trust you?" Manik shook his head. "You know Annette, right?" Fang nodded. "Well, she's in the pound!" Manik told the story of how Annette became a street dog. "Will you help us?" Fang nodded. They weren't in the same gang, but they knew one thing: most street dogs depend on each other.

Annette rested her head on her paws. "They'll come for e. I know they will." Her cell mate, a raggy mutt stood up. "No, they wont. I said that same thing. I've been here for years. They won't come. Trust me." Annette knew her friends wouldn't abandon her. "No, Manik and the others aren't like that." The mutt shrugged. "What ever you say. Name's Toughy. Your's?" "Annette."  "You're a house pet, right?" Annette shook her head. "No, not any more. I left it to live with Manik." Toughy nodded. "Yes. Smart choice."

Fang waited. "Skipper, Affy, come with me." "Don't call me Affy!" Afghanna shouted. Fang waited. Soon the dog catcher walked out. "Now!" Fang whispered. He entered. Annette rose up. "Fang?" "Annette." "What are you doing here?" "Saving you. I'm with Manik. They're outside." Fang popped the lock the way Angel showed him. Soon Annette was home free!

When she was out, Manik greeted her. "Let's get out of here before that rotten dog catcher shows up!" Fang smiled, showing his knife-sharp fangs. "Yeah, but my gang and I are gonna stay here, to give that dog catcher a taste of his own medicine.' Manik laughed. "You do that. Then tell us how it goes." Fang nodded. "Yeah. It oughta be good." With that, the two gangs parted.
