Star is a junkyard dog--born and breed. He grew up on the streets and he loves every bit of his free-style life.
He was the original co-leader of the junkyard dogs, running things with Buster. He knew The Tramp, and used to run around with him, as well (though not as often as with Buster).
Though he was the junkyard dog's "leader" he was more often on his own than with the dogs, putting Buster in the real position as leader. He never cared for anyone but himself, until he met and fell in love with Angela. During his time with her, he ignored his job as leader of the junkyard dogs; though he usually was off in his own, anyway, before Angela came.
A few months after being with Angela, she told him she was gave birth to a litter of five, and afraid to take on the responsibility of fatherhood, he left. Angela confronted him a few times about raising his pups, but when he denied responsibility for them, Angela eventually gave up and raised her children on her own.
Star stayed hidden from his responsibilities after that--he left the junkyard to once again only look out for himself. When he heard Angela was taken by the pound, he figured his pups were with her and he showed no concern over it, knowing his ex-wife would be quickly adopted (being a lovely dog and having cute puppies with her).
It wasn't until Angela was taken in by her human family and ran off into the streets to find her pups that he realized that his pups was missing. Instead of helping Angela look for her, he shrugged off the idea and proclaimed the pups was more than likely dead.
Since his wife returned to her human family, forever leaving behind the life of a stray and giving up hope of finding her children, Star lived in isolation. Though he constantly tries to convince himself otherwise, he feels very guilty over the loss of his pups and the heartbreak of his mate.
Months later, when Angel is more grown up and adopted by Scamp's family, she goes off into the streets with Scamp to find her long-lost parents. She and Scamp meet Star, as they checked everywhere in seatch of her folks. Star returned to the junkyard shortly after the junkyard dogs left to be adopted, and he is currently the junkyard's only common resident.
At the time of their first meeting, neither Star nor Angel knew they were father and daughter at the time. At first he rejects the idea of helping Angel find her parents, as her story reminded him greatly of his own and he preferred not to face it again.
