To not neglect and to respect before any creation
1- A complete description
Your character must have a complete description finished AND activated before any appearance or statement on the sites.
Here are the criteria:
A- An Image representing your character
His ENTIRE body, including the head. None of the body parts must be cut.
The image can be created from a screen-shot of the concerned movie, or a drawing made by yourself. The Fan Art and Fan Images rules apply themselves here too! No exceptions!
B - A complete biography
We are asking for 4 lines per aspect! Your character's bio is only completed when you have the following aspects in the description. Again, NO exceptions! : Age, Breed, Personality, Likes, Dislikes, History and relation to the concerned movie.
If you don't have EACH of those aspects in the biography, your character will not be activated. The relation to the concerned movie is essential and MUST be serious and entertained.
That means: Negative example: You're creating a character, Balto's brother. You're only stating it in the description and after what, the relation is never shown in any fanworks - Your character will get desactivated. Why? Because you're not using it the way it's supposed to be.
It isn't Deviantart here. Your character MUST be sometimes shown with official characters and demostrating the bio's relation. Be serious!

Not Allowed
1- Characters unrelated to the movie's universe
A character without any relation to the concerned movie isn't allowed. Thus, animals that are not represented in the source movie AREN'T allowed. Why? We want to avoid out of subject content and conflicts.
2- Mythological, fantasy characters having no relation with the universe of the movies
Credibly speaking, these creatures have nothing to do on our sites. We want to preserve the authenticity of Animation Source! Now, everything that's concerning mythological/fantasy/magical creatures isn't allowed. Be realistic and respect the movies.
Ex : Vampires, witches, griffons, centaures, flying wolves, magical powers etc.
Consequently, hybrids between canines or whatever animal and imaginary creatures are not allowed. In the past, it too often created conflicts and once again, we want to keep this site for the real fans of our sites - their animated movies!

ONLY EXCEPTION!
All Dogs go to Heaven Source: Angels and demons are allowed since they are part of the movie's plot.

3- Stolen characters or visually stongly inspired from another character
Stealing is not allowed.
4- Characters having incomplete descriptions
Your character will get desactivated if it's description isn't correct. It's as simple as that.

Sparkle Dogs
What follows are the modalities concerning Spakle Dogs. If you need to, refer yourselves here before sending one of your characters on the sites .
Allowed
You are free to exploit your creativity basing yourselves on the margin of possibilities that offers the Fan Characters rules. Your character - Do not forget that it needs to be related to the concerned movie!
Physically, you can attribute him the colors and markings that you want BUT it must remain reasonable!
Accessories such as scarfs, bandanas, necklaces, chains etc. are allowed. Your accessories can be decorated as you wish. Be creative and give some style to your character!
Of course, do not abuse. Be reasonable!
The moderators will judge of your characters. If you're having any problems, contact me.
Not Allowed
A character having too extravagant colors. Avoid to make it look like a christmas tree or a rainbow - Please!... Stay in the margin of realism regarding the source movie site you're on.
Exemples :
- Dog/wolf having yellow flash fur, red paws and an orange tongue
- A streaked or partially striped dog/wolf with red eyes and a purple leg
- Multicolor dog. Half of the body orange and the other half red
- Red dog/wolf having yellow spikes of fur
You are now having an idea of what a real sparkel dog looks like. For the creation of your characters, base yourselves on the types of characters that you're finding in the source move. Why? Once again, it is not Deviantart. Our sites are for the real fans of Balto, the Lion King, All Dogs go to Heaven ect. Extravagant characters and sparkel characters don't belong here. Let's protect our sites and respect the REAL and initial purpose of their creation. Remember. Why are you here? For what you should truly be here?
Respect Animation Source the way it's supposed to be!

Though I very much disagree with the character limit, GreyWolf was trying to think of a good way to solve problems. This was her conclusion. So unless you have a better way to solve this issue don't just whine about all your imaginary friends you will have to delete. Tell GreyWolf a way that will solve the problem. How can Animation Source keep on topic, and not become another Deviantart?

That´s definitivly the wrong way to get quality into the site. Only allowing characters people put effort into is one thing (and I approve that) but limiting, no way.

Okay, you delete to meet the limit "Wowee! I saved all my favorites!"
You take a look at Fan Image/ Fan Art rules. "I have to delete the art now?! Okay..." So, yeah, you delete 3-4 pages of you art. Okay. Were good now right? Nope. Now your behind the limit for Balto Drawings/Images.
I don't care HOW MUCH you love Balto, drawing 3-4 pictures of the characters will get /boring/, just so you can send your own art.
I thought 1-14 (I think.) was fine, I didn't mind. I also wouldn't mind 1-10. 1-5 is a bit over the top!
BS/AS did NOT need new rules! We had those two recent out breaks, but for the past few week everything was /fine/! Rant boards werent popping up, no fights in the shout box. You change it to un reasonable rules. Oh look! Out breeaak! Faaaboulus!

Putting a limit to characters... not only does it block creativity, but all those fan creations that feature a 'now deleted character' will be deactivated beause of the new image rules. A lot of members will lose their work and I'd be pretty pissed off if I were them.
This rule is the only rule I have a problem with, Grey. Your other rules are perfectly fine. But this one I do not agree with.
Why should the members that actually put effort in making their characters have to choose just 15 because of the newer members flooding the fan character section with their pointless characters? That doesn't seem fair to me.
And to bring up another point... but I don't want to sound like I'm hounding anyone, I just want to get my two cents out there. If you do not want Animation Source to become the next deviantArt, then why are sparkledogs still here? I find it hard to understand how a member can make a pale green dog realted to Balto in anyway. Unless it's owner dropped a bucket of permanent paint on it's head...
As long as you only activate characters that respect the rules (So they ARE connected to the movie) you don´t need to limit the number of characters per user.
Again, don´t activate characters that don´t respect these rules and deactivate the ones that are already made so the character section will be clean and you don´t need a limit. Quality shouldn´t be limited.
If you want to limit something, limit the blank renders and linearts. Using them once a while is fine but I´ve seen galleries with nothing else than that. This doesn´t need any effort. Rendering yourself is different, there you can edit the body shape, place Aleu´s head on Kodi´s body etc.
I think you should rather limit the colored balnk renders/linearts to 15 per gallery.
Renders done by the creator self and graphoics are fine, there can be an unlimited number of them in each gallery, as long as they are respecting the rules. But please stop these overusing of "coloring pages". It´s boring, annoying to see the same pictures everywhere, just colored differently. That´s something you need to change and limit, but not the (well made) characters.

You see, the 10 limit? Thats way to small. Some people here are angry and I'm one of them. Why are these rules so strict? There are alot of other things that have to be banned. This is ridiculous! People should have as much characters as they like, but ONLY if the bios and pictures are readable and understandable. I totally agree with you that this isn't deviantART. Sparkle dogs are now banned and that is ok. But the realistic ones that are related to Balto and the other sites... I had great plans Grey wolf... I had been writing several fanfics but now, they're in the trash. Alot of members disagree with you and I'm one of them. If you had characters, maybe you'd understand. I miss Steet and alot of the other members do too. So if you really choose your own options over the other members... I don't know if we want to follow these ways.
