It is the most expensive animated film ever made, costing $260 million dollars. It's also the second-most expensive film ever made period, after Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. It's gotten an 88% "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes. And it has been called by many critics as Disney's best fairy tale since Beauty and the Beast.

That film, of course, is Tangled.

Tangled opened on November 24, 2010--the day before Thanksgiving. It was up against Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1 for the weekend box office, and ended up losing, though only by about $1 million. Its total gross from Wednesday through the following Sunday worldwide was $68,706,298 .......asdfhawefomaweohfrawoemfrawoiehfrsef.

The next weekend, this past one, Tangled soared past Harry Potter to become the number-one film of the weekend, earning an estimated $21,500,000 in the US, bringing its domestic gross to $96,461,000. Its worldwide gross to date is $142,261,000.

Tangled is currently up for an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, and it is thought to be running against Toy Story 3 and How to Train Your Dragon. Other Academy Award nominations it may receive include Best Song, Best Score, and Best Sound Editing.
