Happy birthday Animation Source! I'm so proud to be able to do my part for the sources and be a part of the site's history and awesome community Here's looking forward to eight more years!!

I cant believe its been 8 years. This website is where I found a small batch of friends back from I believe January 2005. Surprisingly I still have those friends. =] Another thing I am surprised about, Is the emoticons have been the same since I remember my first visit to the shout box. Haha.

Doesn't mean that the English side can't celebrate the creation of a website that has brought many of us together. Yes the French side opened up first, but it's Animation Source as a whole that started today.

But that's not the point, I'm not gonna say happy birthday to this website, but I will congratulate it on staying up as long as it has and for being my starting point to my artist path.

I don't mean to break up a good time here, but this Fan News is a little bit out of subject since the English side of BS has only opened on September 1st of 2004. Right now, the 8th birthday concerns the French side of the site only. There's still a few months left until the 8th anniversary of the English side.

NB: Next time it would be nice to ask for permission before using images that you've haven't created yourself... (This time I'm talking about a certain rolling banner) Thank you.

Anyways, this being said: Thank you Steet for having the idea of creating this site eight years ago.

You know, despite the ups and downs this site has been through, I'm just glad to be a part of this. Sure I may complain sometimes, but that's just because I care about the site and love being here with all these people that share the same interests as me. My discovery of this site is the reason I am going into the art field in college (most likely). If it weren't for Animation Source, I don't know WHAT the heck I would want to do in college or what my profession could be. No joke. Yes it may seem silly, but I found my love for art through this site. I really did. And it's special to me in that way.

The anniversary banner for the website,also makes me feel old.

'with 15 sources and more on the way' - OK, no offense, Skul, because this was a nice gesture but just where are the mods and maintainers for these new sites going to come from? The merry ol' land of Oz? Again, this is not a dig at you or anything but, really?

Actually, Jesus, we have more sources than I thought we had. This is getting quite out of control.

I've only been here for almost three years now and it had definately helped me develop as an artist and the people here have introduced me to so many things. It's weird how much things have changed in the reasonably short time I've been here. When I joined there were two sites and no hub. Despite all the drama I have every intention for sticking around for years to come so yeah, happy birthday AS.

Gosh...8 years. I feel old.
The first year, people were already asking how long the site would be up, I said "even if someday I'm not active, I'll keep the site up". And so I did!

I'm probably one of the few users that's been here since day one. (Yas, I'm old LOL) Happy 8th AS.

Well, that's settled.

I've been here for 4 of those 8 years. (Gosh, half the time? It doesn't seem that long!) And let me tell you, I've found more satisfaction in this website than I have in some areas of my real life! It's been awesome being a part of it all, and I am very glad that Animation Source exists.

You won't get any argument from me there, Hecate.

And why we don't cooper ? Aha, we tryed in the past and it was just the same ! Nobody respect us or even speak with us, and when we was trying to say something : "omg, how bad is the french side to say we don't respect our own rules! ".
We have tryed and it doesn't work.

Skull now know that he should ask before and know that we don't have bad feeling or, like you sayed : " don't touch my stuff, and stay on your side of the fence " . We are not like that. But I'm sure the english mods can understand it and would have made the same than us. Asking doesn't kill anyone

I meant no disrespect Hecate. I understand your desire to protect your work. I just didn't know why the English and French sides didn't, well, cooperate more on sharing stuff that is used in news and banners and such. You and Skul are both staffers, if perhaps on different sides of the same coin, as it were.

It just seemed, I don't know...like "don't touch my stuff, and stay on your side of the fence". But I certainly don't mean to dismiss your feelings, Hecate.

I've put my time in an image for the french side ( why ? Cause I'm mod on there and it's my job to make it. Not for the english one cause I'm not a mod and it's the job of the english mods to do it ). And I don't see why english mods can take my job without asking first. That all.

I've asked to Skull to change it and he makes it. The curent image is an other one I've made and I tell him he can use this if he wants to.

Happy birthday AS. This site is brilliant. It has improved since the last time I was here. (I had a very old account ages ago when I was like 6 or 7). Anyway, Happy birthday AS!

Brief follow-up...

Why do I stay? My friends here. My hopes that I can still share with those newbies who do care and do try. And my fandom for some of these animated movies. Beyond that, the below-mentioned things have caused lingering bitterness, humiliation, and loss of any degree of supportive sentiment. Whenever I've tried to appeal to the webmaster for help, or a chance to wipe our particular slate clean, he's written me off rudely as "a child". There hangs the situation.

Sorry if this was a buzzkill, Skul. I didn't mean to. I just felt the need to give voice to this.
