Name: King
AKA "The King"
Breed: Great Dane
Gender: Male
Parents: Rain x Hougen*
Siblings: 7 others.
Place of Origin: Reasonably cozy home in the Southern Alps
Mate: None/ No Consenting Parties
Basic Personality: King could be described as arrogant, ruthless and psychopathic in his thirst for power and vengeance. He thinks himself above simple dogs- however that doesn’t stop him from stooping to the lowest levels if it helps him get what he wants. He has also proven to be deceitful and charming when rallying dogs to his cause. He is a cunning opponent who knows his strength and uses his size and power to the fullest advantage…unfortunately. He is often dissonantly polite and proper in his mannerisms, thus fitting his name.
In depth analysis: The remnants of King’s shattered past life no longer shine through in his personality, there is little but hate in his heart. It’s hard to say King is devoid of all kindness but any actions that could be described as “kind” are usually driven by some ulterior motives. King is an extremely dangerous dog because he’s realized how much he likes pain and suffering. He kills because he no longer sees the value in a life that can’t do anything for him. He is also extremely unpredictable and prone to unstable outbursts of rage. He knows no real loyalty other than himself and sees no real value in keeping a vow. He is extremely arrogant in his abilities, but his arrogance isn’t so misplaced. He is a massive and powerful force to be reckoned with. He has a pretty sick sense of humor but can be occasionally funny. He is usually polite unless enraged, but pretty words mean less when he’s got you by the neck…His arrogance and madness will perhaps be his undoing someday.
Background Information: King and his siblings were born to Rain after she was assaulted by Hougen in her home. It was thought that a stud dog named Roi was his father, and Rain initially lied to her pups to protect them from the horrible reality. After a few pups were sold, Rain decided to eventually come clean to her remaining children- King being one of them. King and Inkblot were the last remaining pups and became nearly inseparable. One day when the brothers were roughhousing, King accidentally damaged Inblot’s ear. The accident caused it to flop instead of stand erect and this unbalance marred Inkblot’s show career. Their owner was furious with King and sold him to the next person he could find willing to take him.
King longed to become a show dog, but he soon learned that he was a “flawed product”. His new owner learned that King’s mantle-quin coat disqualified him from showing. The owner’s poodle did very well and was praised and well liked by the owner and his girlfriend. King was growing and getting too big for the house and after he accidentally injured the poodle while playing too rough he was turned over to a series of shelters. King watched the smaller dogs get adopted all around him, while he sat and languished in his seclusion. After a possible exchange with some abusive owners and/or a stint in a dog-fighting ring, King escaped human captivity once and for all.
King as all but forgotten about his brother Inkblot, and let jealousy of Inkblot’s chosen lifestyle poison any affection that might have been left towards Inkblot. The ordeal fueled his hate for smaller dogs, designer breeds and humans in general. The hate burned fierce and wild; soon he viewed any dog that preferred human loyalty over canine to be an enemy. Dogs could be “saved” and join his pack, or risk being attacked. King has grown so brave in recent times that he has even ordered attacks on humans, he also kidnaps puppies and dogs from towns for some foul purpose no doubt… Should his pack’s behavior and patterns be recognized as a threat by human authorities it could jeopardize the safety of wild dogs throughout Japan. The repercussions of interfering with humans could be disastrous but King of course… Doesn’t care. King as kept himself, his victims and his expansive pack well hidden inside a large mine in the mountains. The town in the valley below continues to suffer from The King’s insatiable wrath.
Possible futures: His attacks of humans and human owned dogs must be stopped. He is setting an extremely bad image of wild dogs, which could lead to an uprising in action taken against strays. Inkblot and his pack of wild dogs are at the forefront of trying to stop King’s madness.
His relation to Ginga is being a direct descendent to Hougen and various encounters with minor cannon characters in the future.
* Roi is his registered sire on his papers… Which have probably been misplaced or destroyed. For part of his life he honestly believed Roi was his father.
** Yes I made a Ginga OC directly related to a Ginga character. Am I going to Ginga OC hell? Probably.
