personality;; Unlike the dogs she was primarily raised with, Chi Chi is known for her bravery and endurance, along with quite the amount of intelligence. Her knowledge of different landscapes, due to her coming from Korea, is useful in her travels with the Ohu pack, helping guide the young leader across wilderness, and how to navigate busy streets. Chi Chi is a motivated leader that doesn’t let things get the best of her (most of the time), but her differences do come at a downfall. She had issues with integrating herself with the Japanese dogs, treated with a high amount of suspicion from ones who personally were in combat with the Russian dogs. Empathy was shown toward her from Lydia, able to relate to the feeling of displacement and alienation, but Chi Chi was able to prove herself by being a navigator and able to quickly move and organize platoons. Her sometimes-worrisome and motherly traits were accquired by looking after Kotetsu and Koyuki, which seemed to never stay out of some sort of trouble.
history;; Born in the Korean city of Seoul, Chi Chi was born to a litter of dogs specifically bred for their hunting abilities, and were quickly sold off to hunters from across Asia. A mix up was made in a Japanese ad's translation, claiming Chi Chi was a Kishu rather than a Jindo, and sold to the hunter that would later own Koyuki and Kotestsu. She was considered by this man to be "stupid" due to her not knowing how to interpret and respond to Japanese commands. Everyone here spoke so strangely, even the dogs were hard to understand at times. The jindo usually refrained from talking, acting if she was mute, rather than having a conversation lost in translation. Chi Chi was about two or three when Koyuki and Kotestsu were introduced and had grasped the basics of Japanese, treating the pups as younger siblings rather just friends. The three grew up together, forming a sibling-like bond, the two younger looking for advice and lessons from Chi Chi.
After Kotestsu turned up missing, Chi Chi advised Koyuki to stay home, claiming she didn't know that much about the outside world, which the Kishu didn't take very well. Of course, she ran off to find him, Chi Chi worried sick, but still remained at home to be there whenever she decided to come to her sences. Days went by, making the Jindo awfully nervous. The two were young, lively, but not the smartest, prompting her to take off into "The Territory of the Legendary Dogs", as known by pets. After Koyuki and Kotestu were found somewhat unharmed, Chi Chi convinced her to come home, even if the younger explained her wonderful tale of romance. Her actions were later met by guilt when Koyuki was taken away to become a dam, seeing the sorrow she expressed, and prayed that her love would eventually come to find her.
Time passed, and word of Koyuki or Kotestsu's whereabouts never came around. It worried Chi Chi enough for her to turn to the dogs that once saved the pair, but found something highly unlikely there. Koyuki had become a mother, Kotetsu, a soldier, all at the both disbelief and shock from Chi Chi. Through persistence, Koyuki convinced her for her to stay in the mountains.
