Name: Inkblot
Breed: Great Dane
-Friends and Allies may call him Ink from time to time.
Gender: Male
Parents: Rain x Hougen*
Siblings: 7 others.
Place of Origin: Reasonably cozy home in the Southern Alps
Mate: None
Basic Personality: Fairly serious and focused most of the time, this pairs well with his brave and couagous side. He has a strong sense of justice, but he can be a little too ambitious in his plans to achieve it. While he always tries to do “the right thing” sometimes he can come down a bit too harshly on those around him, and occasionally lapse into fighting cruel and dirty. As he matures and grows wiser, he becomes a fair and natural leader.
In depth analysis: He could be seen as being somewhat like Gin in his youth, he fights and kills as he sees fit. While he likes to spare lives when he can, he’s learned second chances are too often taken advantage of. He learned more about his father by asking around, and what he heard unsettled him deeply. He’d never admit it, but some of his strong sense of justice actually stems from his aversion to his father’s reckless cruelty. He actually prefers not to name his father when asked, or speak of his past life on the end of a leash for that matter. He is usually brave, but doesn’t plan too well. However, he often learns from his mistakes and will take failure as a moment to reflect on the next course of action. He has a rare humorous side that is seen in the heat of battle or afterwards.
Background Information: Inkblot and his siblings were born to Rain after she was assaulted by Hougen in her home. It was thought that a stud dog named Roi was his father, and Rain initially lied to her pups to protect them from the horrible reality. After a few pups were sold, Rain decided to eventually come clean to her remaining children- Inkblot being one of them. Inkblot was actually the favorite of the litter and the one Rain’s owner decided to keep. He was trained to be a show dog after all the other pups were sold except for his brother King. Inkblot and King became nearly inseparable. One day when the brothers were roughhousing, King accidentally damaged Inblot’s ear. The accident caused it to flop instead of stand erect and this unbalance marred his show career. Their owner was furious with King and sold him to the next person he could find willing to take him. Inkblot decided instead of staying with his mother and an uncertain future, he would look for King.
The truth about his heritage hadn’t really affected him until he was out in the wild of the Southern Alps for a while. Dogs would run from him, seemingly without reason. Inkblot was horrified by the truth of the deeds of his father, and deeply affected by it. He had become a little rougher in the time spent wandering the wild. He didn’t miss being a domestic pet he liked his freedom too much. He’d started a gang of a few dogs with a common goal of claiming a mountain as their home. Inkblot had longer given up on looking for King when he heard of a tyrant named King that ruled over the mountain the gang had set their sights on. This tyrant was particularly cruel and his pack was particularly large. Inkblot heard that this “King” was kidnapping dogs from the valley town, especially small house dogs- out of some apparent unquenchable grudge against them. King and his pack were also allegedly killing humans- and Inkblot knew that would spell disaster for wild dogs all across Japan.
Upon confronting this “King” and finding out that this was what had become of his brother, Inkblot tried and failed to make King see reason. Inkblot and his gang were nearly all lost in the ensuing battle. Defeated and barely escaping, Inkblot knows he must build an elite team/pack of the best dogs in Japan to have a prayer against King and take back that mountain. The cycle of evil in their family ends here, he has decided. He has told no one this, but that is the root of his motivation.
Possible futures: He will be traveling all around Japan to recruit the dogs for his cause. Inkblot knows King would rather die than give up his land and ruthless power. Inkblot is prepared to do as he must.
His relation to Ginga is being a direct descendent to Hougen and various encounters with minor cannon characters in the future.
* Roi is his registered sire on his papers… Which have probably been misplaced or destroyed. For part of his life he honestly believed Roi was his father.
** Yes I made a Ginga OC directly related to a Ginga character. Am I going to Ginga OC hell? Probably.
