Description
A Japanese Pine Marten that appeared in Ginga Nagareboshi Gin as flashback character. When the Kai Brothers were abandoned in the forest as young pups, the marten attacked them and slashed Kurotora's right eye. However, Ben came to the rescue and chased off the marten. The Marten isn't seen again in the anime.
Marten appears again in Shin Gaiden story - "Story of Kai Brothers part 2" It's appearance changed from white to brown with black markings.
This time, after it attacks the pups for the first time and is driven away by Ben it comes back again after observing the pups more. This time it attacks Chutora and drags him away. Chutora frees himself from the Marten's jaws but looses his ear in the process. Akatora and Kurotora come to rescue thier brother and together the brothers Kai kill the Marten.
*Some subs refer to the Marten as "Tin"

"tin" means marten, it's not a name. The both subed versions I saw
simply say "Tin, the murderer". There's no mention of it being a dog
and "tin" is mistakely taken for a name. Maybe marten was called a dog in Scandinavian dubs, but I can't tell. |

I came across that in the subs too and found it odd, so I'll just make a little note so people who viewed those subs know they are one and the same.
