I've known this dog as Pochi but you might be right. There was another dog in the manga (Jackal was his name, I think) that's pretty similar to the dog in this profile.
Although the plot part with Chibi and Kisaragi's sons was planned in anime production.
I'll give these episodes a quick rewatch soon and I'll try to fix this.

if you want to be accurate, you should use the picture of Pochi from the manga. That is his only confirmed and official appearance.

I mean honestly it really doesn't matter to me to argue about the names of minor characters. Fans have called him Pochi so I'm going to stick with Pochi. That's the end of the debate for me .

Yes, but this dog is never called by name. As I said, Pochi's part in the manga was to move the plot of Chibi meeting Kisaragi's sons along. They weren't in the anime, and neither was Pochi. There is no proof that this dog is Pochi, but there is proof that he isn't.

It wouldn't be the first time there were some discrepancies between the manga and the anime. Which is good enough for me. I'm fine with calling him Pochi just the same. :]

No offense, but that is obviously a different dog. Pochi's ears are folded. while this dog's are erect. Pochi is solid white and has a collar, while this dog is brown with a cream underbelly and has no collar. The anime may have tweaked some colors a bit, but they never did anything as drastic as to make a character completely different. Even Hakuro still has his two scars and his markings are basically the same.

Just because fans have been calling him Pochi doesn't make it official. That's like saying Gin's brothers' names really are Hiyan and Giyan. Neither Gin's brothers nor this background dog are ever called by their names. I've watched a good-quality subbed version of the anime twice and both times I neither saw "Pochi" on the subs nor heard it being said by the characters.

Pochi was not in the anime because his part in the story was cut out of it. As the Wikia says, Pochi was to watch Chibi but the puppy wandered off. Chibi didn't wander off in the anime, and was watched by Moss. Pochi probably was going to appear at some point during production, as there are concepts for Kisaragi's sons, but all three of the characters were scrapped for an unknown reason.
