Harpooned bear is from Hokkaido and has the particularity of having three harpoons on his back. These come from the crew of a ship that the bear invaded. The crew tried to kill the bear by launching the harpoons but they did no damage and the bear ate all 25 men. He also killed 5 public officersthat got into the ship, once it stopped sailing, to see why the ship seemed empy and, while he ran away from the ship, he killed other 4 people, relatives of those ate in the ship.

Once in Futago Pass, Harpooned bear killed some of Akakabuto liutenants, Ohu dogs and was about to kill Gin too. Due to the much swimming he had done, his muscles are very strong and his flesh is steel like, making it difficult to the dogs to kill it. He wanted to take Akakabuto's place and climbed Gajou to challenge the demon bear. But, once Akakabuto was in front of him, Harpooned Bear saw how big the one-eyes bear was and knew he couldn't defeat him so, he asked to join his side. Akakabuto though refuses and kills him with one blow.
