Harunosuke was a minion of Batto who ran away to hide after that the platoon leader was defeated. He met Hougen, on his way to escape from Weed and Jerome. Harunosuke tells Hougen what happened to Batto but, instead of killing him, Hougen spares his life, noticing how much Harunosuke resembles him. When the latter goes away, Hougen goes in the opposite direction, erasing his pawprints with a tree branch and hiding. Weed is fooled and follows Harunosuke's prints while Jerome notices a different scent and follows Hougen's real path. When Weed catches up with Harunosuke, he thinks it's Hougen and he attacks with a Battouga. Harunosuke dodges the attack and xplains to Weed that Hougen told him to go there. Weed realizes he's been fooled and goes back.

Harunosuke only appears in this scene of the anime.
