The Koga Elder from ginga Densetsu Weed used to be Kurojaki's subordinate. It is said that he used to take care of the clan when Tesshin lived in Ou. Tesshin refused to go with Weed at first because he claimed he has to take care of Elder, but the  old dog presuades him to go and help his friends in fight against Hougen.

Later Elder takes care of the pups that are left in Koga village because they are too young to aid Ou army.

In the manga Elder's body is burned, as he was the only dog that survived the suicide in burning Iga house. Like in the anime, he took care of the remaining Kogas untill Tesshin came back to take the lead, but he bears a great hate towards Ou and blames them for Kurojaki's death. When he sees that Tesshin agreed to follow Weed, he tries to commit suicide, but is saved by Ou dogs and finally accepts them as allies.

And like in anime, he takes care and trains the pups left in Koga village.

The common fan misconception says that Koga Elder is Kurojaki, but it was confirmed by Yoshihiro Takahashi himself that he was just a subordinate of Kurojaki.
