"Thinking back on that night, I’m not entirely sure what time it was when I… ran away. But I do recall it being fairly early in the evening. After my powers were revealed in the court yard, I was panicked.
I ran across the fjord, scared out of my wits, for Anna, for the kingdom, and for myself. I fled, not giving much thought to my surroundings, or even my own exhaustion.
I ran for miles up the slopes.
Through the forest.
And as I was got closer to the North Mountain, I finally slowed down to catch my bearings. Before I knew it, I had traveled all night. By the time I finished constructing my ice palace (it didn’t take me long to make) the sun was rising.
It was the first sunrise I was able to watch in peace. And it was the most content with myself that I’d been in years. I made the palace so it would not face Arendelle or make it easy for me to look at it. I didn’t want anything that could distract me into wanting to return. So I hadn’t known about the trouble I’d caused, or the storm I left in my wake, until Anna came to bring me back."
