Hey! I noticed you're a big Warriors fan(Scourge is one of my favorites, too!). I think you ought to find Watership Down by Richard Adams and check it out - the style's a bit more poetic and long-winded, and in ways, you can sometimes skip over paragraphs without missing much, but some of it's quite important and telling. It's also about a group of animals, but is a little less 'human-like', but in my opinion, that's what makes it great. You stop feeling human whilst reading it.

The general plot is that Hazel has a little brother named Fiver. Fiver has visions that can cause him much anguish. So while the two are out of there home in the open and hanging about, Fiver has a terrible vision where the field is covered in blood. He freaks out, so Hazel takes him back home. When they're asleep, he has a massive anxiety attack induced by a nightmare, so they go and talk to the leader.
Fiver wants them to leave and find a new home - EVERYONE. Of course, in the middle of the mating season, that would be a logistical disaster - the leader reasons that moving everyone would probably result in more deaths than whatever disaster's ahead.
So, Hazel and Fiver get a group of others who all wish to leave, including former-guard Bigwig, who's both a. really strong and b. FRICKIN' AWESOME. So they all leave, and go on an epic adventure for their survival.

After many hardships, they reach their new home, only to be faced with a new danger - one, there's not a singular female among them. Which sucks. And two, another group - Efrafa. That's where the females are, and that's where they've got to go. However... the chief, General Woundwort, would rather kill'em all than give them anything. And so, the epic battle for survival REALLY starts.



By the way... I forgot to mention something.
