She can also be described as easy going ,or conservative. Isn't openly flirty. She can seem a little cold and shy at first, but acts better once she knows you. She's less outgoing and excitable than others, but that doesn't prevent her from being upbeat.
History: She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in the early 1920s. Her owner was a former hunter. About a year later, Chambray started to feel like she didn't belong in Montreal, like something was missing in her life, so she ran away and hopped on a southbound freight train for the adventure. Along the way, she ate mice that were living in a corner of the boxcar she was in. About a week later, the train stopped in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where the boxcar was uncoupled from the train, switched, classified, then hooked onto another train headed east. A few days later, the train stopped in the small Tennessee town of Sladeville, where she hopped off.
About a month after, Chambray met a golden retriever, with whom she later fell in love, and became mates when she was 3 years old. A couple months later, they decided to become parents. About two days later, her mate and his ill-tempered brother got into an argument that escalated into a violent fight that left him mortally wounded and gasping for air. Chambray had heard the fight, and came running. When she got there, she saw her mate lying on the ground, bleeding and having difficulty breathing, and ran to his side; he breathed his last a few minutes later. Chambray cried and remembered every memory she had of him. Her mate, the love of her life, was dead. Their pups would grow up fatherless.
About a week later the morning sickness started, but went away after another week. Two weeks later, Chambray (now a month pregnant) was walking through the forest outside of Sladeville, when she stepped in a bear trap that was hidden under some leaves, and the bone in her leg was crushed in the jaws. The pain was so unbearable she passed out. Luckily a fox in a nearby den had heard the trap snap shut, as well as Chambray's pained yelp. He cautiously walked over to her, sniffed, and sensed she was still alive. The fox saw that the dog's leg was caught in a trap, and badly injured. He carefully opened the trap after examining it, freed her leg from it, and dragged her into his den.
Chambray woke up, confused, and in an unfamiliar place. The fox was licking her injury, and it was already feeling better. Chambray asked the fox where she was, and he told her. She thanked the fox for freeing her from the trap and taking her in.
To pass the time, Chambray and the fox (named Loki) talked, but Loki didn't say much; he was still getting used to having a dog in his den. Loki brought her food each day, as well as water.
Two weeks after being brought into Loki's den, Loki started to fall for Chambray. And soon after, she started to fall for him as well. A little more than two weeks after that, while Loki was out looking for food for him and Chambray, Chambray was woken up by labor pains, and realized it was time. The last of her four pups was born less than two hours later, and Loki returned almost an hour later. When he got back, he was surprised, as well as happy for Chambray. A few days later, the two became a happy couple.
A few days after that, two of the pups died. The two that survived, she later taught to pick out buried traps, as well as to stay away from them. However, in an cruel and ironic twist of fate about 6 years later, her only son got caught in a trap, out of earshot of his mother and foster father. He lay on the ground, bleeding, until he died from blood loss. After Chambray found out about her son's death from his mate, she went into a deep depression.
