Cheif Delany's father made a promise to the west. The promise he had made to the spirit of the west was, catch me the hunting dog Ruby, and you'll have the most bushes't tail in the land, but YOU must catch he agreed, and became cheif with his bushey tail, but broke his promise, he ordered every one who could to try and catch Ruby, and when the west found out, she took his bushy tail away and gave him a weedy one. In despair cheif Delany  comitted sacrifice, and left Guliano a widow, and she went and left him for Joka. Delany's father was the one who made the promise, and then was passed down to Delany. Delany met Tod a few times, and after he married Guliano, he became tod's and Vixey's son in law.
