Patch's Great San Francisco                                                   Adventure                       Part 3

"Do not trust any other dalmatians and/or wolves besides me unless you are absolutely sure it is your family. Do you understand me?" Ashack asked Patch. They had woken up and Ashack was in a bad mood.

"Y-yes. I do." Patch answered shakily. He was slightly scared by Ashack's loud and rude tone. He didn't understand why he was in such a bad mood. Was it because of Patch's question last night?

                                            Flashback

Patch and Ashack ran and stopped soon. "Ashack?" Patch asked, looking up at Ashack. "Yes?" Ashack answered questioningly. "Why did those wolves want to know where you were?"

Ashack hesitated and said, "It is dark. Go to sleep. I will tell you in the morning." He layed down. Patch followed suit and fell asleep.

                                   End of Flashback

"Hey, Ashack, can you tell me now about why those wolves wanted to know where you were?" Patch asked, a bit scared of what Ashack may say or do because of the question. Ashack's face turned to one of frustration to sadness.

"It all started on a pack hunt," Ashack told his story, "I was the one to bring the caribou down. (Remember, fanfiction.) A wolf got angry that he wasn't the one to bring the caribou down. So, he yelled at me."

                                          Flashback

"How dare you take my kill?!" The wolf yelled. He was clearly frustrated at how Ashack killed the caribou. He had wanted to bring it down, but Ashack beat him to it. "I didn't. You were too slow. So, I brought it down." Ashack explained.

"Slow? SLOW? I will show you slow!" The wolf screamed as he lunged at Ashack. Ashack dodged and grabbed the wolf's throat. "I am sorry, Lian, but if you will attack me, I will attack back. Harder." Lian choked helplessly.

The rest of the hunting group watched, scared as hell as Ashack killed Lian. Without a word, Ashack passed the group and worked his way to the den. One of the wolves smirked and ran a shorter way to the pack leader's den.

"Likolo, sir! Come quick! I have something 'interesting' to tell you!" The wolf yelled at the entrance. "Yes, Mikale, what is it?" Likolo asked as he appeared out of the darkness of the den.

Ashack and the rest had gotten back and were eating. "ASHACK!" A very angry voice boomed. Ashack recognised it and cowered in fear from the tone of voice from the leader and quickly went to the leader's den.

"What is the meaning of this?" Likolo asked, Mikale right next to him, smiling. "What is the meaning of what?" Ashack asked. "You, killing Lian!" The leader's voice boomed. "Oh... that..." Ashack hesitated. "You know what this means, right Ashack?" Likolo asked, a bit of sadness hinting his voice. He was a bit sad.

Ashack had been his best wolf of the pack, but by pack law of wolves, Ashack must go. Killing a pack member is unacceptable. If it was a loner, sure, but a pack member?

"Yes, sir. I know. I will leave now." Ashack replied depressed. He instantly regretted killing Lian. "You will now live the life of a loner. Goodbye, Ashack. As much as I hate to have to let you go-"

He was interrupted as Ashack grabbed his throat and choked him to death. He ran out, knowing the pack would try to kill him if he was found out. He soon found a den to stay in.

The next morning, Ashack left to go look for food. Soon after, having not been successful, he returned to the den, only to see a small dalmatian puppy.

                                            End of Flashback

"And so, I never went back. I know they will try to kill me, and possibly hurt you, if not worse." Ashack ended his story, saddened by it. "But, I still have a companion." Ashack added as he patted Patch on the head with his paw.

Meanwhile, Pongo and the others were at home fretting over Patch. "What if he is hurt? What if-" Pongo cut Perdita off. "Do not worry. Like Anita says, perhaps if Patch found his way home, perhaps he could do it again." Pongo said as he layed down next to Perdita and rested his head on her back.

"We will search tomorrow." Roger stated to Anita and the Nanny. "I will watch the young dearests while you four go look for dear Patch. The poor little thing." The Nanny said with a saddened tone.

"How could you? Why would you kill two wolves?" Patch asked Ashack, scared of his story and losing his trust in Ashack. "I was only trying to-" Patch cut Ashack off. "Trying to what? Gain trust and respect? Gain leadership? I don't see that happening any time soon!" "Patch, please listen to me." Ashack pleaded.

"No!" Patch exclaimed and ran off, tears pouring from his eyes down his cheeks. Why would Ashack do such a thing? He said he would never do that to anyone! "Patch! Please! Let me explain! Come back!" Ashack yelled, pleading for Patch to stop and listen. Patch wouldn't have any of it. He didn't want to hear any excuses. He just kept running.

Never looking back at Ashack, who was still pursuing him. Not once.

What will Ashack do? Will he got his best friend back? Or lose him forever? Will Patch ever trust him again? When the look, will Pongo and the gang fine Patch?

Find out in...
