Patch's Great San Francisco                                                 Adventure
                                                                          Part 2

"So, where to first?" Patch asked excitedly. Ashack smiled and smelled a scent similar to Patch's. "C'mon! I may have found them!" They ran along the scent trial. The bush beside them shook. Patch and Ashack froze and stayed alert.

Out emerged a dalmatian similar to Patch's mother, but not quite. Ashack smiled and said, "There is your mother! Go home now, Patch." "That isn't my mother." Patch informed Ashack. Ashack frowned and looked at the dalmatian.

As soon as she saw the wolf and the dalmatian puppy, the dalmatian smiled and said, "Why hello there. My name is Luna. Who are you two?"

Ashack and Patch hesitated. "I am Ashack, and this is Patch." Ashack introduced. Patch motioned for Ashack to bow down. Ashack did so and Patch whispered in his ear, "I don't trust her. Especially by the way she talks, and the look in her eyes."

Ashack whispered back, "We will be fine. Don't worry. I will protect you until we get you back to your family." Ashack stood up again and looked into Luna's eyes. Indeed, her eyes did show a bit of suspiciousness. Ashack didn't trust her either.

Ashack chuckled nervously and informed Luna, "Well, it has been a pleasure meeting you, Luna, but we should go now." They both turned to walk away, but Luna quickly got in their way. "What's the rush? We only just met." Luna said, glancing at Patch. Patch was a bit frightened.

So, only to spare Luna's feelings, Ashack decided to stay a bit longer. They got to know eachother better. Soon, Ashack informed, "I am going to get a drink of water. Be back in a few." Once Ashack was out of earshot, Luna quickly whispered to Patch, "Alright, Patch. I need you to come with me. I have something great to show you."

Patch became excited, completely forgetting about Ashack and his family and said, "Alright! I am always up for an adventure! Where are we going?" Luna smiled and said, "You'll see, pup. You'll see." And so, they left.

A few minutes later, Ashack returned. He gasped and got scared. Patch and Luna were gone! He searched the whole area for them. They weren't around! Ashack followed their scent trials up to a river. The scents ended here. How would he find them now?

Luna and Patch had gotten to a dark den. Patch, excited, ran into the darkness. He heard a maniac-like laugh. A black wolf appeared and said, "Did you think we would let you get home that easy?" Patch shook violently. Luna said, "Just tell him where Ashack is, and you are free."

"Down at the creek, getting a drink of water." Patch informed, voice shaky from his body shaking. However, Patch was unaware of the danger he just put Ashack in. "Good," the black wolf said, "you may leave, now." Patch quickly left, scared to death. A question remained in his mind, though.

Why had they wanted to know where Ashack was?

Ashack wandered around aimlessly, looking for Patch and Luna. More specifically, Patch. He promised to Patch that he would protect him until he was home. And that was what he intended to do. A bush beside him shook. Patch jumped out and ran to Ashack.

"I was so scared!" Patch whined. "By what?" Ashack asked, "And where is Luna?" "Luna said she had something great to show me. So I followed. She led me to a dark cave. A black wolf asked where you were. I told him, and they let me go." Patch explained.

Ashack was now scared for Patch's safety. "Come. We must leave, now!" Ashack told Patch. As scared as he was, Patch had no problem with it. They ran off quickly. Soon, they stopped. "Ashack?" Patch asked, looking up at Ashack.

"Yes?" Ashack answered. "Why are those wolves after you?" Patch asked. Ashack hesitated. It was now dark. "Let's go to sleep. I will tell you tomorrow." Ashack said, lying down. Patch followed suit and they went to sleep.

Pongo and the others were now at home. "Oh, where could Patch be?" Perdita asked in a worried tone. "I don't know dear, but don't worry. We will find him. I will make sure of it." Pongo assured Perdita. Anita wasn't as worried, though. "If he made it home once, he could do it again." she would always say to assure everyone.

Patch's brothers were even more worried about Patch than Perdita. They constantly talked about him, hoping and praying, that somehow, Patch would be ok.

Will Patch make it home? Will Ashack get away from the wolves? Will Patch's brothers and sisters get over him being gone, or will they keep worrying? Also, why were the wolves after Ashack in the first place? Find out in....

*drumroll....*
