The Reason
Thunderbolt's handler gets hurt in a crossfire during a hunt for the fugitive, and thus Thunderbolt is forced to spend some time living with Bennett and her handler while his recovers. Even though the two aren't happy about the idea initially, they begin to slowly see eye-to-eye, and Thunderbolt is finally able to break down Bennett's icy barriers to understand her nature.
She has not yet forgotten her father's death - today it still haunts her, and that is why she forces herself into work. Because it allows her to escape the thought that her father, her idol, is gone.
Because Bennett is able to fully admit this to Thunderbolt, the two begin to slowly understand one another, and slowly become friends.
I kinda want to write a fanfic about this... Oh and I know Thunderbolt looks wonky here.
