However, one night while Roger and Anita took Pongo and Perdita for a walk, Dakota along her siblings were kidnapped by Roger and Horace. Their boss, Cruella de Vil, told them to so she could make a fur coat. But Dakota soon realized Cruella didn't only kidnap her and her siblings, she had kidnapped 84 more puppies. After a few days the pups were soon rescued by Sergeant Tibs, the Colonel and were soon happely reunited with their parents. Along with her family and the other 84 pups they headed home but the winter conditions made the journey tough. The pups soon got tired and cold and were welcome to stay in a farm with cows.

As they got trough a village, Cruella found them but they all coverd in soot looking like labradors. They befriended the labrador who lived their who told them that his owner had a truck that was heading for London. Dakota and the others are soon reunited with Roger and Anita just intime for Christmas.

Because the house were they lived was getting to small, with 101 dogs, Roger and Anita bought a farm were there was enough space for the pups. Ofcourse the pups lifes wasn't without adventures. Dakota soon developed a crush to a pup called Tripod, who was Lucky's rival. Dakota befriended Tripod and started hanging out with him making Lucky jealous. Dakota soon got into a fight with her brother which resulted into her dissaperence. Lucky was devastated knowing it was his fault his sister was missing and went everywhere to find her. Dakota got lost in the big city were she originally came from. She went to her old house but bumped into Cruella. As she tried to escape she was captured and taken to Cruella's Manor not far from the farm. Lucky and the others soon discoverd were she was and went to save her. After being rescued Dakota was very thankfull and promised never to runaway again.

As years past by Dakota's feelings for Tripod had grown stronger and soon started dating him becoming his mate after a few months. The mating between Dakota and Tripod resulted into Dakota getting pregnant with a few pups. However, happiness didn't took long as Dakota sufferd from a miscarriage losing her pups. Thinking she would never be able to bear pups, or carry them to the fullest, Dakota grew a depression refusing to eat and locking herself away from the others.

It got so far that they had to take Dakota to a doctor and was near death. Anita told that Dakota had a miscarriage and had been locking herself away since then. Perdita went to talk about it with her daughter and after a while Dakota got over it. She was soon pregnant again but feared she would have another miscarriage. After some months Dakota gave birth to five pups, but two were stillborn. Dakota and Tripod were saddend that two had died but happy that the other three pups were healthy and alive. The surviving pups were one female and two males named Cleo, Hunter and Rakker.
