I believe the reasons were a little more complex then that, my dear Celt.

It may have been due to the fact that there was some sort of merger being made between Turner Feature Animation and Time Warner. It never really received much in the way of advertisement either, which was probably because of the merger.

Then again, all of this is based on very vague knowledge, so don't take it from me.
