My opinion on 'coon hunting:

It's sick and wrong! Whoever gets pleasure out of watching their dog tear another animal limb from limb is a disgusting twisted b@stard that deserves the same fate as the animal they're hunting. There is NOTHING okay or 'American' about that. I think it should be outlawed.

Deer hunting and fowl hunting is acceptable. They're killed pretty humanely (getting shot normally takes them out quickly) and they are usually eaten or skinned or something.

With raccoons, the dog is sent after them, chases them up a tree and the so called 'hunters' shake the raccoon to the ground and sit back to watch in ecstasy as the small woodland creature gets torn to pieces. Once it's dead, the hunters and dogs leave the corpse to rot in the woods.

Now then, can someone tell me exactly WHAT is okay about this foul and demented sport?

Mmmm......I wonder why the person who voted 'Great American Tradition' didn't try to defend their bloodlusting sport. Perhaps they don't have a good enough argument? :?

Where did ya hear about this? Didga jus' suppose it? Ya should go to a 'coon hunter in your area and ask him or her how the varmint is killed. I myself know nothin' about 'coon huntin' so I can't vote.

Yes, I heard it straight from the mouth of a REAL coon hunter.

And if getting off on the savage death of a 'varmint' is an American Tradition, well, then I'm ASHAMED of my country because that is just so disgusting...UGH! I can't believe people actually AGREE with this pissedoff.gif !

I just don't agree with it unless it is needed for food or is needed for something apart fashion or trophies. When I said needed for food I meant if you live in the forest and hunt for food.(Live in a small house in the woods)

Possibly you should ask as many 'coon hunters as possible to prove that is how all 'coon hunters hunt?

Yes, I do wonder how many different ways one would kill a raccoon for no reason......

I'm sure there are plenty of other ways to viciously kill a raccoon.

But, I still go on unconvinced that it's okay, and I still think it should be outlawed.

I think it should be outlawed as well. It's very disgusting, I agree, and those people just. . . Will never see beauty, or fairness.

I think all hunting sports should be outlawed; many animals are getting endangered due to careless hunters who think nothing but themselves.

I don't agree with hunting. It is a very sick and cruel sport. Although some things I suppose must be hunted to keep the numbers down. I don't know much about Racoons so I can't really comment.
