Have you ever noticed that when anyone puts up a legitimate topic on the forum, someone has to come in and ruin it with some dumb comment?
I just notice this sort of thing I guess.


Is there anyone who shares my opinion, or do I need to call a mod to close this topic?

I kind of see your point, but sometimes it's just a matter of how messages are interpreted... but I do agree that MOST of the time it's just somebody trying to put in their opinion, but can't really do it in an intelligent way.

I actually see a potential for a flame war... but I'll keep this open until if/when such a thing happens.

Usually, such comments lead to a deviation of the topic, resulting in a cataclismic flame war. If people were to ignore these manners of mediocrity, there would be no problem.

I agree, sometimes people go looking for fights and put an offending stupid comment. They are hard to ignore if you are someone who is strong-headed or you are the one who is offended, I am strong-headed but, I tend to hold my tongue.

I commend you for that, Emily. There are some people that are less able to do that, or unable to do that.

I hate pointless posts with ever fiber in my body. It's just annoying to have an educational conversation, then all of a sudden someone posts something about what happened in school, what happened in another topic, how someone hates them, etc. It's also really bothersome to have people repeat what someone else already said because they want to sound smart. It happens mostly in the questions page...usually, it's something like this.

Person 1: Oh, you have to click "edit my profile" and there will be a url box for an avatar.
Person 2: yea u c that button that lets u edit??? clik it & u can put the url in ther :D:D

Ugh, it really does annoy me. If someone already told someone how to do something, then another person shouldn't act all smart-like and repost exactly what they said. Once the question is answered, no one else should post. It doesn't help their reputation, and it certainly doesn't help the person who posted the question. Spam is another issue. Just look at this.

It's a real shame that I somehow am not able to delete that message. What was the point of that person posting it? I really don't see it.

People do that to emphasize their emotions... In this case, it was over-emphasized to the most extremem I can really think of...

Heck, there was one article about a Balto 4, and can you say spam city? My God, people were posting "Balto!" or "I love Balto!" with each character repeated to the power of like 50... (repeated about 50x) It annoys me like heck...

Nah, just playing. A lot of people do spam in every thread, don't they? I wonder what they do on thier English papers.



Holy cheese and everything's that good in it. People like that disgust me to no end; what do they do with their life? Make '!''s until their hand falls off?

I really wish we could have more intellectual debates, but flamers ruin them in the end.

I feel the same way, not only on the forums, but talking in general, sometimes I don't like it when nobody else knows what I'm talking about, and I can't really have an intelligent conversation because I have to explain everything to everyone else...

I have to explain things constantly to people. It's quite annoying really.
