I think most of us know about the next consoles coming out, and I was woundering which one is the most wanted, so anyways here is what I think about the new consoles.

PS3: This is the one I want most out of all them, not because its the most powerfull its more about the games that are going to come out for it, I am already salivating over some of the titles that are coming out. Like Metal Gear Solid 4, and devil may dry 4, also of course Grand turismo 5. Also the sony playstation seems to me to get most of the good RPGs so I am excited about any new RPGs coming out, and I am sure they will make a new Final Fantasy yay! but from what I have heard, Microsoft asked Squar-Enix to make an RPG for the Xbox 360, I forgot the name of the game though, So thats kept me pretty interested. Well all in all, from what I have heard and seen the PS3 is supposed to be the most powerfull, but really thats not why I want it, its for the games, so its on the top of my list.

Nintendo Revolution: Now this one was VERY close to the top on my most wanted list, just for one thing. Nintendos First party games are the greatest, there will be so many great games for it. like new Zelda games, we will see the mario brothers again thats for sure, donkey kong, and who could forget super smash bros. these are all guaranteed good games so there is nothing for me to worry about, and of course there is "all the way back backwards capability" so you will be able to play games all the way back to the NES. so thats cool, but I have heard from some people that the older games will not be free to download, and some say it will be free. I just dont know. In conclusion the Revolution to me will be a good investment, because of its good first party games, and I am sure it will be the system that will cost the least. so it might be the first one I get.

Xbox 360: well out of the three, this is the one I want the least, not because I dont like it, itss because none of the new games hold my interest, well maybe only one, and thats the Squar-Enix game but thats it. Also I have heard that it has problems with backwards capability, because of all of its new hardware, but Microsoft says that they will make it were you dont have to rebuy the games. well anyways I dont think I will buy this sytem when it first comes out, I just does not hold my interest enough for me to fork out all that money for it. But what I plan to do is buy an Xbox when the 360, because the xbox probably wont cost much money.

well there you have it, my ideas about the consoles. (yeah I know its was long) so tell me what system you want, and your opinions about them.

Errr...PS3 will not be released until several months, so I doubt you have played it yet. We don't even really know which are the games released in the line up.
To me, I think I will wait at least one or two years before getting one of these consoles, as I always do at each generation. This is not a good idea to buy a console when it is released, because very often the price goes down after only a few months. (this is what Microsoft will do with the xbox360, release it at a certain price and then decrease the price when the PS3 will be released.) And the other reason is that the first models of console are often instable (most of the first series of playstation 2 had severe issues after a few months)

I'm interested in the PS3 because it's the one that is sure to get the most games released on it, and it seems it will be the more powerful. The only thing I fear is the price, as they want to make it a multimedia "computer" (They even said that the PS3 isn't a console ) I would mostly buy this console for the japanese RPGs as it is one of the weak points of Nintendo. I don't care about the Blue-ray, as it seems really too early for that, and I'm more for the HD-dvd format. (that will cost less for producing and is directly compatible with the current dvd)

I'm not interested by the Xbox360, as I don't like at all the politic of Microsoft. They only want to make everything they want to eat Sony and get the first place, even if that means spending tons of money. (they have always losed money with the first Xbox and they will never recover it) And when they will get the first place, they will put all the prices they want (In Europe, when xbox was released, they put the games at 70€ = 80$ whereas games on ps2 and gc were 60€...). I also don't want to pay anything for playing online games, I don't care about whether their xbox live is good or not. The games are already too much expensive, and they are focusing their games too much on that IMO. And last point, there may be several japanese games at first (because they spend a lot of money to convince them), but I doubt it will really work so it will probably be another xbox for that. Finally, they said xbox 1 games can work on it, but it is only as an emulator, so many games won't work or you'll have to download patches (the PC way...yuck! I hate that)

I can't say much things about the revolution yet, because we have very few info. I like the fact that they will make the price very low, and that it will play gc games (obviously). But I think they are making a big error by making it not powerful at all compared to the other two, and by not supporting the high definition HDTV. If I bought a gamecube, it was also because it was much powerful. And they will get many difficulties for third parties to make multi-platform games on it, so we'll probably see very few third party developpers. If they want me to buy it, they will have to make a real revolution in gaming, and not something gadget like the DS.

But, all I can say is that it seems really too early for this generation. Microsoft wanted to haste it because they are losing too much money on their first xbox. I'm disapointed that the others want to haste their consoles instead of supporting their actual console some more. I think that with the current consoles base sold, there should still be games for the playstation 2 in 5 years. But I want them to be good games. I'll probably buy a ps2 when it will get really cheap (after the release of the ps3 probably), so I can have the few games that interest me on it. And there are way too many sequels. I could talk longer about this, but it is surely the biggest problem of the nowadays video game industry. I would have never thought they would go as far as a Tekken 6 or Gran turismo 5... (well it's different for RPGs like Final fantasy because they aren't real sequels)


It is Final fantasy XI, the MMORPG, the same game that was released on the ps2 and pc, with slightly updated graphics, and it will work on the same servers than the other versions. How great There is another RPG in the work from guys who worked for squaresoft, though. But there isn't much info on it yet.

Playstation 3 will probably be most popular when it comes out, im gonna wait a while before after it first comes out because the prices will be crazy!

Yeah thats pretty much the same reason I want a PS3 is the games. and for the price I think its is supposed to be around 500$ in america, but I am not sure for other countries.



I agree with you there, because how could any movie/game take up 25 gigs of space? Blue-rays are more for backing up data from your computer. so it seems kind of pointless.

I am not intrested in any of them, i am more interested of the new harddisk bound to come than a console where its pretty the same thing as a pc just lacks the advanced features like programming, webdesing etc.

To me a PC isn't made to play games, but make games...or everything else. I still think that a console is the best way to play games. They are much cheaper (one graphic card is often more expensive than a console...!!), they don't need to be updated while the graphics are still improved, and often look better than PC games, at least in the first years. I don't like putting patches over patches to get the game work, and I don't like spending 1 hour configuring a game before being able to play it correctly. And above all, the PC games don't interest me...(FPS, RTS...no more adventure games as before) The only games that interest me on PC are manage games such as The Sims, Theme Park or The movies (not out yet)
Wow, I can't believe that everything I do is criticizing I think I should stop...Well there are also advantages in playing on the PC, as you said Shdrex, but I believe this is just not for me.

I can't wait till the PS3 comes out because I have PS2 & I used to have PS1 . But what I really want is a PSP where you can watch movies in the car & when you are traviling .Maybe PS3 would be smaller than PS2 & Ps1 together

And as i am a anti-console (burn them at the stake) i create my anyconsole site and anti-console restaurant lines i will not need to visit this topic.

lol shdrex I have friends just like you, they wont even touch a console.
PC gaming does have its advantages, such as mods for the games and also FPS are only good if you play them on a PC. I cant stand FPS on consoles.

Dont worry i have a only FPS friend too.
I played that game Jak and Dexter on console ant that hing Maximo so dont worry i plaed on consoles two at friends.
But i dont like the idea that the console is a better gaming station than a PC this is very wrong and of course the prices to have a modern PC are high but the satisfaction is high as well.
I would say why i was so sentimental last night but its known by a few friends so i want to keep that way.

I don´t know if it is because i always used old pc to play my games but in the consoles the same game seem to have a higher fps...

Now im usen a radeon video board , but it almost is only used to trow the image in my tv, I almost never play games in my pc.... prefer play tem in the ps2, i think the old impression still are alive in my mind....
